My main (this account) was high plat low diamond in OW1. I got paid coaching recently and am working my way to master/ GM now. however when I play on my main (this account) it placed me in gold. I actually feel extremely bad playing comp on it now due to how easy the games are.
One game I was spawn camping the enemy team by myself on Widow with a 70% accuracy with 70% Crit accuracy because they had no clue how to react or counter me. The current system does not handle MMR the same way OW1 did from what it feels like and focuses more on W/L ratio. But even getting 7 wins in a row carrying put me up from gold 4 to gold 3. So that is a %$#@ ton of games I have to smash players on before getting to where I actually am now.
The devs need to really take a look at comp placements or something.
Everyone got dropped 2+ ranks. If you see a gold that means they were DIAMONDā¦
There have been some match making shenanigans since the patch, been getting GMs and top500 in matches that should be plat through masters. Maybe comp is having similar issues.
They forced deranked everybody. Some of lost a full rank, some lost two full ranks. Not to mention there were still a bunch of diamond, master and grandmaster who placed in bronze and got stuck there during season 1, who might now be sitting in your elo.
In short, youāre having to play with people who have no business being in your rank, but were put there through no fault of their own.
Iām seeing some decent hit scan as well. Maybe they are coming from other games. I watch the replays if they seem sus, but I havenāt found a cheater yet.
Not really indicative of anything though since people can just buy their way through the pass/just playing the game.
