Everyone has a "Thing"

That’s what’s missing from Lifeweaver, Ana both nade and sleep, Kiriko extreme headshot multiplier STACKED with her good ult but that just betters her mid game as well and her mid game and ult directly complement each other stacked with having suzu.

Hell Baptiste… he’s just a hit scan with 3 burst and double survivability.

Lucio has his boop and they upped his damage for whatever reason.

Mercy rez. Moira coal has pierce so do the orbs.

But what is Lifeweavers like “Thing” that actually helps with the killing,

Wellll that was his dash, I’ve gotten into like 2 arguments surrounding this I think annnnnd now that the dash is weaker hell weaker then it was pre buff wellll… hmmm now we have a problem.

  1. Headshot reduction Lifeweaver primarily shoots and kills tanks on the daily sooooo this causes some problems.
  2. The dps passive.

Weaver wants to sorta just dash into you and kill you, it’s a 1 trick combo that well use to work everything if you had the aim.

Issue is since now your constantly under the dps passive using your dash for… well anything outside of healing chip damage now they REALLY nerfed it hard you can’t finish a kill without dying.

His tree is great now, his Lifegrips actually impactful how since the resent patch.

But no matter how many buffs you give him every where else it dosen’t catch up to how good that mid fight dash is, he’s a duelist that’s like his entire thing he’s the guy your not supposed to want to meet in a 1 v 1, all this extra stuff dosen’t mean anything if Im not only dead but hell not even a treat to people up THE MAIN RANGE HE’S ACTUALLY USEFUL IN but as soon as that dps passive gets on him boom dead.

Basically Lifeweaver has to sorta… ya know be alive for him to use all this extra stuff yall are giving him, you weakned the platforms hp as well soooooo like he’s already a not so good here so all the strange nerfs yall give him catch up VERRRY fast.

Annnnd yall just so happened to nerf the one thing that dash that was keeping this entire hero together.

His ults good now tho I can actually win the ult fight and strategize with it hell I don’t even put that crap in the fight anymore I just give my team the over health and use it like a sound barrier.

He can win the ult fight now and actually contribute the problem now is… well actually getting there without having lost to much value from well… not being able to do anything and honestly just being sent back to spawn 24/7.

Oh my God, Ayanga! Why do you wanna see Wifeleaver’s thing?

i’ve met plenty of good lifeweavers. i’m going to be fair. i’m not going to say every lifeweaver is bad.

now listen to this: i’ve never met a single lifeweaver that would be worse off playing another hero. every one of these great lifeweavers could have expanded their ability even more by playing other characters. this was a mistake to release for gameplay, aesthetic, story, and real life reasons. lifeweaver will always be a stain on this game.

that’s why kiriko is on the front. get used to that forever, humanity. stop trying to change it.

Yes officer that post over there.

You’ve identified something that developers have to consider when making character. “What does this guy do that makes him important? What’s his thing?”

Technically, his thing is bailing out his teammates and creating opportunities for better positioning. I think the problem is this thing is 'meh" at best or disruptive at worse.

Ana, for example, can hard stun a target and dictate the flow of battle with her nade. I actually think these are important tools which is why I’m resistant to having them nerfed. With out them, Overwatch would be a "hold W’ simulator and several characters would need nerfs to compensate.

However, most supports can save their targets from certain death (except who? Zenyatta’s main healing ability?), so I feel like most people just focus on the disruptive parts of his kit even though his main way of saving you will straight up undo poor positioning.

What does a developer do to make it feel like he’s not only contributing, but standing side by side the likes of Ana, Bap, Kiriko and such?

Well Lifeweaver was just dashing in and killing you he was actually VERY consistent at that.

Or just spamming down tanks but well… those got changed a lot as well.
