we had a duo ban sombra even though a teammate had picked her and was begging to be allowed to play her. enemy went wreckingball and sombra was banned. so our genji was like “man I wish I could play my main here, would have been great”. the toxic duo was laughing in chat and being toxic. but the other three of us were super supportive and we won out of spite and thanked the genji and told him we hope he gets no sombra ban next game. it made me sad, but i was very happy that 3 of us were supportive of the sombra. this was in 6v6 open queue, in case someone questions the math of 2 toxics, 3 supportive, and the 1 sombra main victim (i did in my head for a second haha)+

Hero bans are a great idea. Instead of hating a concept thats in dozens of games, hate the fact that:

*Cheating is rampant
*Heroes arent balanced

If heroes were balanced, you wouldnt see the same damn handful of heroes getting banned nearly all the matches. That should tell you more then anything…

hero bans are not and have never been a step towards balance. they’re a shortcut, that makes balance ignorable.

also, no game with a hero select that is actually fun has hero bans. only unfun games have hero bans. street fighter certainly never had hero bans. super smash bros never had hero bans.

Welp, if your preferred hero is Sombra, Soj, Ball, Doom or Zarya, then tough luck. You arent safe. Adapt.

Just quit overwatch comp that’s what I did. The more of us that do and the faster the sooner this dumb idea gets reverted and Aaron Keller is sent packing.

while i agree with the spirit of your post, you lessen what you’re saying by calling for people to lose their jobs. aaron has done a great job, it’s only the unfortunate tendency to bend to the influence of toxic streamers who suggested hero bans that’s the issue here. people can undo mistakes without losing a job over it.

I fully and wholeheartedly disagree and think he has been nothing but an absolute problem at that company.
And I as a long time developer don’t call for people “losing their jobs” lightly. He is absolutely atrocious as a game director. I don’t think he should be unemployed, I think he should be removed from being in charge.
