Hi ~!

I’m sorry to trouble you; however, my post-mother’s day Overwatch-ing was going to take place, but once I launch the game, it goes through all the stages it normally does: login > searching for game server > connecting to game server > entering game, but stalls there for like two minutes and will then say “Connection to Game Server Lost”. I cannot get past the login screen.

It seems to be somewhere between my ISP and Blizzard? I’m not sure what to do.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken:

  1. Made sure the game is up to date by selecting check for updates in the Blizzard Battle . net desktop app.

  2. Made sure I have “Americas” selected in the region dropdown above the play button on the Blizzard Battle . net desktop app.

  3. Run the repair tool to repair any damaged game files (completed quickly).

  4. Reset my network devices as per battle . net/support/article/31851.

  5. ipconfig /release | ipconfig /renew | ipconfig /flushdns | netsh winsock reset | restart.

  6. ensured I have rules for TCP ports 1119, 3724, 6113, 80 and UDP ports 3478-3479, 5060, 5062, 6250, 12000-64000.

  7. Am using a known good CAT6A cable to connect to my router.

  8. Have disabled or uninstalled any “security” software which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat, including resetting “Windows Defender Firewall” to defaults

  9. Have run a selective start up (disabling services that aren’t MS) to no avail.

Same problem as me (Australia). Keep getting disconnected for the past 2 days. Gone from 4 to 3 now, and I think I’ve been disconnected like 3 times mid games and now facing short ban.

Hi All

Just an update. I have reinstalled windows 10 with fresh drivers. Overwatch still does not wish to let me play. Still gets to the same point of losing connection with the game server. I’d rather not have to shell out money for another copy of a game I own just to continue to practice in quick play.

Yep able to play now too. Very weird. @cidhunter your issue is slightly different @clups recommendation is probably the way to go. :slight_smile:

Edit: 8:29 am Monday, 13 May 2019 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and my problem has arisen again. Yet was able to play earlier today. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Can each of you post your WinMTR so they can possibly spot a common issue?

Follow the instructions for WinMTR. If you’re unable to get into game for the IP address, then use an IP from the table on that page that matches your region.

To add it to your reply here:

  1. Click the “Copy Text to clipboard” button after you’ve finished the test per the instructions.
  2. Paste the text in a reply, then highlight the pasted text and click </> on the post editor.
  3. Break any links by adding a space before .com, .net, etc.

Shouldn’t the netgraph in-game show you the correct IP (CTRL+Shift+N)?

I have same problem but i can access to the Asian server.
I don’t think this is my network problem.

I’m noticing a number of signs of signal stability issues after the data leaves the home network. I ran a report on the ISP you use but there are very few users, so not much data to go on to verify if this is an ISP issue or not.

My advice would be to test a different network temporarily next time this happens. Such as a mobile hotspot, friends house, library, internet cafe, etc. If the game works on another network while the issue is happening on the home network, that’d be more than enough cause to reach out to the ISP directly.

Yes, the netgraph in-game shows you the server you’re currently connected to. Though some of these reports may have used the Americas IP address listed from the winMTR instructions page if they were unable to connect long enough to view the netgraph.

It’s definitely odd it’s only affecting one account but not another. It’s super rare for this to happen, but I have seen routers/modems that have bad cached data for an account. Doing a power cycle should typically resolve issues like that. Changing the email can also help oddly enough if it’s something you wanted to try.

I underlined part of this test. The modem may be having problems talking with your ISP. I’d recommend contacting the ISP and showing a tier 2 or 3 tech this test and focusing on the packet loss I underlined. Apart from that, just follow along with Kaldraydis’ reply.

For the rest of you - we’re not currently aware of any Australian ISP issues at the moment. I’m changing the title of this thread and am going to move some of you around to your own threads so we can keep this linear. If I didn’t get you, just post your own thread.

Oke so i got 3 times disconected while in game this season losing like 150-200 sr… evreytime i send email to support they say they cant refund the sr and i should post on forum… so here i am today it happened AGAIN… and i got put in the timout bench so i cant play with my friends and more anoying is that its in gold O.o played it for like 15 hours this season but this 3th time really is making me pissed off… like wtf is the problem… i just want my sr and a stable connection to play is that to much to ask ? … i got glassfiber internet so i know thats not the issue because my tv is also connected to internet and that 1 dont disconects when i lose it ingame
