Oh they outright said it here

Yeah playing against one-shotting cowboys in the alpha playtest was brutal lol. That was the meta on day 2, then on day 3 it turned into people trying to make counter-cass builds (then he got nerfed a week later )

The too long, didn’t read is that retention is high, they intend to balance oppressive combinations, and that they are addressing snowballs. They are attempting this by increasing passive cashflow and adding new items to prevent hard counters from thriving. The Mercy rule now has a cash requirement of a 15k lead and a grace round to create the possibility of a reverse sweep.

stadium is going to be the most played mode by the end of 2025. and in mid - late 2026 with all the updates that it can have every season, it might be possible to get overwatch 2 nominated for game of the year award. i truly believe that stadium is exactly what every overwatch player was dreaming about. its gonna go wild, its going to welcome players from other games too, they have cooked a meal that can please all the kings and queens in this world. even then ones who might look at stadium through negative filter glasses.

It’s not possible because it didn’t release this year.

How long do we get to choose perks before the match starts?

Meh it was bad during the alpha test, they ignored every bit of our feedback. And now the complaints about the length and number of upgrades being an issue is being changed to just shorter less fun rounds instead of less rounds. Dipped in again last night and it’s even worse than the alpha test. It’s really a shame cause it could have been so very good.

Stadium mode is truly a promising mode. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. As long as they implement existing systems in the best way possible, I don’t care whether they copied or invented them. In this mode, I see a different take on Paladins. In Paladins, we used to prepare builds with cards and go into matches with those builds. Here, we create our own builds by purchasing upgrades with the credits we earn, tailoring everything to our playstyle.

What kept Paladins alive for years wasn’t Hi-Rez, but its build system. Each time, we could try out different builds and have countless ways to play a single character. I find the build system innovative, fun, and liberating. It’s perfect for those who get bored of playing a character in a monotonous way.

My only issue with this mode is that it’s 5v5. I’ve never liked the 5v5 format, and I never will. I would’ve preferred this mode to be 6v6.

Another thing I think they should pay attention to is TTK. It shouldn’t be too long or too short. TTK should be the balance itself.

I saw a video with an 80 second timer between rounds.

Snowballing was also an issue in some matches.

WILL YOU ADDRESS THIS FOR THE REST OF THE GAME???

GREAT. More wasted time to play a game. Guess if you enjoy sitting around in queue for 5+ minutes what’s another minute or 2.

How did you get invited to the playtest?

you never learn, we wanted pve with talents, story mode, progression, not this half made crap you had to hurry because you were going to die against marvel rivals, only 17 characters, what a failure, you will fail again with this mode, will take time to update it and people will get bored eventually

baits used to be credible

Soldier 76 seems to heavily rely on his biotic field in this mode, it’s most of his skill cards thingys

So there were enough stomps that they added in a sympathy mechanic, lol. They say 3rd person is to deal with everything happening on screen but it’s just there to sell skins. This mode is going to bleed players.
