Pederasty wasn’t what you scumbags portray it to be. Nobody craved young boys and those who did were severely punished, ranging from permanent exile to straight up execution.
The real meaning of pederasty (παιδεραστία) stems from the words παις (=child) and εράν (=guide, educate).
Young men and women were assigned teachers who, in today’s terms, would be considered mentors. Those teachers weren’t exactly “math teachers” or “english teachers”, they were responsible for the mental as well as physical development of their students. When I say physical, I mean from physical training/exercise to sexual education. That sexual education part, which you filthy minded scum have twisted, is what you say it was going on when, in reality, young teens were taught to always train their bodies, love what is really beautiful (meaning well built bodies for both men and women) and knowing not to commit heinous sexual acts.
