Echo is so unfun to play against

switch to support + duplicate tank only and dps = crying community because it is not a support.

duplication is the identity with which echo was developed. if you have some decent ideas to avoid the abyss of duplication …

(no, completely eliminating a hero is not a candidate option, OW2 storyboard speaking).

Easily? They stick where they land, so don’t stare directly at them and stand still! Why aren’t you trying go dodge them?

But tanks have no tool to fight against most things, not just echo. You rely on your healer and dps heavily you cant get things done on your own. That’s why tank is the least played role and dps queues are so long. Also water is wet. Overwatch is a team game. Those are not new things whats even the point of this post.

Another crybaby topic on Echo, it’s never going to stop I feel …

-deleted, i do not enjoy playing the game anymore with the current patch and am careful about expressing my discontent-

Genji and Bap fire in sequential bursts that can be stopped part way through by certain interactions, which could leave them with a smaller 1-2 shot burst on their last attack. Echo fires all 3 projectiles at the same, so making it 36 ammo would only make the ammo count slightly less clear with no functional benefit.

That ez beam she has needs a nerf…

Her abilities simply mesh too well.

Most of the roster simply doesn’t get that level of synergy and its making her strong. Her and pharah with mercy is slowly becoming a thing. Most players wont be able to handle all that flight.

So, what? They fire their 3 round burst with one round remaining? I’m just looking at this from a weirdo’s perspective, but I think inconsistency is the biggest issue for new players. Echo shoots three at once, Genji shoots three in sequence. Keep it simple, st… silly.(meaning, just like Ults, if they are interrupted, the ammo is used).

It is simple. If you play Echo, you can fire 12 times before reloading, every single time with no exceptions. Baptiste could theoretically fire between 15 to 45 times before reloading if his burst kept getting interrupted. Smaller numbers are easier to interpret at a glance, there is no reason to give Echo 36 ammo if it will be reduced by 3 100% of the time. If Bap’s and Genji’s bursts could not be interrupted, then they would probably have 15 and 10 ammo displayed respectively as well.

Theoretically, sure. But practically, expecting Baptiste to be interrupted between every single shot is unrealistic. If they get interrupted, it’s usually followed by death. It’s an inconsistency that is there either from laziness or lack for foresight. There is never a situation that Genji, Baptiste, or whoever would want to fire a partial burst… so there is no reason for it to exist.

It’s not really a matter of “wanting” to fire smaller bursts.

Say you’re on Genji, you go to flank the enemy and a Sigma stuns you with a rock, causing one of your attacks to only send out two shurikens. You would want to know that if you continue to fire without manually reloading that your last attack will only send out a single shuriken.

Tanks can handle most other stuff well enough.
Pharah? Okay, but even Pharah is not destroying you iin under 5 seconds.
Reaper? Play with brain and he is not that hard of a threat.
Junkrat? Tanks have tools to play against him.
Mei? Annoying, but since your team is able to destroy 1 pillar you can back out it’s not that hard issue anymore.
Ana? Yes. Anti-nade a tank is obnoxious, but even then you can try to outplay it or fast close distance. You can’t do that on a such mobile character like Echo.

The beam’s what frustrates me. Like, the tank-melting potential is dumb. What were they thinking :expressionless:

Also locking you out of swapping heroes when she duplicates you sucks. It’s a technical limitation so now we know we can, for the unforeseeable future, never have a fix for that. And that sucks.

Love the logic: “if the character can’t be punishable, they aren’t the problem”

So Echo is now a no skill “just spam your abilities lul” hero? Good to see the trend continue that everytime a character is strong they automatically become “eZ win no brain” according to the forums.

The problem with this is 20 meters is where fights happen, so she needs to be within that range. Also 15-20 meters to hit DPS and Supports accurately. You don’t have to aim accurately to hit spam against most tank hitboxes or shields. While no tank (apart from D.Va somewhat) can even interact with her.

Her ult was the first thing they made for her and they knew from the start that they didn’t want it on a support. It wasn’t a last minute change.

I mean, let’s be real here. It was probably, “What if we had a hero that copied other heroes?”
I will go on record, it wasn’t tied to “Echo.” They just wanted a mimic hero.

Remember when she had a longer beam? Yes echo is balanced…without a pocket.

We didnt think Briggite would form a comp called GOATS

We didnt think Sigma would enable double shield

We didnt think ashe and mercy would be a problem

We didnt think echo and mercy would be a problem

Im scared for ow2.

That’s pretty much this whole game anymore
