Nope. As long as there are people out there that believe Sombra takes skill, this ain’t happening. It is too subjective. Lifeweaver and Moira have more skill in their jazz bands than Sombra has in her entire network.
All of them have been decent to useful in high ranks. The issue is that Blizz has always prioritized OWL watchability over actual balance, and in their e-sports corporate guidelines, it says that heroes that are unpopular arent going to increase viewership.
In fact, Moira has a history of being nerfed several times almost basically out of fear she might be used a couple of times in pro-play.
The funniest case of this is Symmetra, who was reworked with the express intent of making her played in OWL, only for Blizz to clutch their pearls and nerf her every time she was used. All because she is not popular.
factually false, support sustain is so incredibly high rn that you essentially cannot kill anything without some sort of oneshot.
The only way soldier is better is that he’s better is that he’s better at accessing off angles. . Atm tho sojourn’s burst is way more useful.
Mei and sym were basically perma picked by the world cup winners and junkrat is strong enough on ladder because of his burst potential. Pharah and reaper you could make arguments for but they have a semblance of a niche which cass does not have. There is essentially no situation where you want to run him over any other character.
The most game sense intensive hero in the game… has needs no skill in any area?
Please consider that perhaps you do not have the skill level yet to counter these heroes and making them worse will just make them completely unusable at skill levels that find them easy to play against.
Yeah thats why Soldier is the t500 meta right now.
Because he cant kill anything through those big 50-60 hps supports. His 120 dmg bodyshots are too weak!!!
The only thing that Widow is necessary for is to break the game. Widow forced both GOATS and Double Shields as responses to her sniper meta in pro play but that is a discussion people arent willing to have.
They are both about the same with different side strengths compared to one another.
Soldier is much harder to punish and kill, Sojourn has easy access to high grounds. They are both as overpowered, Soldier is just way easier.
No one cares about hypercoordinated teams with rehearsed plays. The fact that you are even mentioning them when nothing they do applies to the actual game is just idiotic.
Team TP slaving in pro-play does not translate to power in ladder.
He is trash above silver and only sees usage by the most hardcore mains, just like Sym*
*as an actual DPS, not as a team TP slave.
Its funny because Cassidy is the hitscan with the most defined role and niche out of all hitscans other than Widow. He is the anti-flanker hitscan in the game since launch.
The issue is not that Cassidy is weak. Its that 30+ range hitscans are all overtuned and he is a close/mid range hitscan who is weak to being outranged.
The truth is that Soldier, Sojourn and Ashe are all overtuned jack of all trades that are too good and reliable for the game’s health.
Hitscans should be where Cassidy is at. And once Pharah loses her Headbutting Queen of the Skybox title, there will be zero reason to keep Ashe, Sojourn and Soldier unnerfed.
The only reason I think Zen isn’t being played more is the fact that his counter’s have been repeatedly buffed for the last few seasons. This recent change to his abilities wouldn’t have been as punishing if it weren’t for those hard counters (who are just blatantly broken and tuned into the worst possible balance their abilities could have).
As for Reaper being good in season 1, I guess he was okay but, as usual, he was overshadowed by other DPS who could do his job better than he could and he still required another hero to make him valuable (for season 1 it was Lucio).
I’m not asking for heroes to be exactly the same difficulty to play. I’m asking for heroes that can exist outside of their gimmicks that give them massive advantages against unskilled players. Because currently they don’t, they stomp noobs and bads in low ranks then fall off a cliff once people are good enough to play around their gimmick. Which I think is terrible design.
I’d agree, Moira gets babied even among lower investment heroes and any mechanics that are even somewhat complicated or require a bare minimum of thought to use get QoL fixes to lessen their mental stack. For example damage orbs recharging her pee or fade in coal.
