I’ve said this before, but I’m under the impression that things like Grav, Torb ult and such don’t disappear. They hit the shield, fall, and activate. In that regard, DM’s better because it does just erase the projectile. Oh, and Ana nade too; if you’re in front of a shield that gets hit, you still get hit with the splash damage. And Ashe’s fire.
That is how it works, right? That’s how I remember it working. Dm’s better for that reason; it has all of the upsides of the shields and more.
I see people literally taking all of D.va’s upsides and saying “Actually, they’re terrible and every tank has a better ability!”, and I find that so dishonest.
Let me ask you something: do you think people genuinely don’t see this difference? Or they do, and they’re being dishonest about it? “How is erasing the projectile different from blocking the projectile with a shield that takes damage and doesn’t erase effects of projectiles?”
Do you think they really don’t know? Because I’m ready to stop considering them ignorant and ready to start considering, just maybe, they’re attempting to gaslight me.
