Dps role needs nerfs

Dude needs nerfed again.

To be fair the original passive was only in the first beta and was never on live. So if the current one makes it to live its still a net buff as its a new passive that all the dps heroes receive.

Have you even played overwatch? (or any game) then you should now that people don’t always pick the most meta heroes. People play games for fun, therefore they play heroes they find fun and not necessarily the heroes that are best. On top of that, we have had role lock for quite some time now, now people pick dps without it hurting their team as there will always be 2 tanks anyways.

Sojourn just came out, and like all new heroes she’s OP. They tune her down the line, that’s not something to worry about.

they dont have as much impact but appear more in the killfeed and the impact they do have is felt immediately because all they do is shoot and kill. they are often resource dependant in tanks making space and supports keeping them topped off. if your DPS player dies first in a fight, its doable, honestly its expected. a tank or support dies first and you may just outright lose the fight even if that player is the worst on your team.

1/3 need buffs, 1/3 are decent/healthy, 1/3 are busted or the meta favors them. the ones that need buffs are teh worst heroes in the game. the ones that are busted have other heroes equal in strength if not more in other roles or they get nerfed FAST. expect sojourn to get dumpstered next patch, theres no way her railgun stays as is.

DPS never have had metas that completely revolve around the meta DPS. if tracer is strong you wont see permanent winston dva, oh whaddya know tracer is the only DPS to be consistently strong and the meta NEVER revolved around her even if she was a staple to it. genji got swapped for widow in dive with a kit that literally has him dive on targets he gets replaced by a sniper in a maximum mobility meta. even in giga genji 2020 he took ashes place and ana wasnt played any more than usual. we had echo come in to break double shield but in doing so she was so good against everything else. if a hero is suddenly really good against what is strong now when they werent before its largely because they got such large number changes to make them releveant (sym and bastion metas that lasted 2 weeks and i wouldnt even say meta because you STILL didnt pick around those heroes. it was a COMP but not a META.) Bastion is the sole exception to this in pirate ship but that was never meta and the COMP is niche at best on only a few maps or for short pushes on 2nd round escort.

quad DPS was fun if all the dps players were good if not then it collapses because of how scattered you needed to be in a game that promotes deathballing with your team.

If anything dps needs to get their speed buffs back , and their newest passive should be made global without any cap. No one should be penalised in any way for switching heroes

No, sojourn just needs nerfed. She is the noob tube of overwatch right now. If she couldnt hit every railgun shot she fires with 0 skill games wouldnt feel so bad. Everyone in beta is playing sojourn so im guessing this is what you are feeling.

I don’t even play dps and nah, they don’t need a role wide nerfing

if you want the game to survive they do. Tanks need help, and support players across the board hate playing support. almost no one is playing them. you gotta think long term. at this point ow2 is going to fail before it even launches.

I hope so. I feel like the AOE skill just seems unnecessary.

What bothers me to no end is how rampant one-hit kill heroes are running without a second tank.

Just quit Supports - can’t beat them/tired of constantly having to adapt - join them. I don’t think they’ll ever be as fun to play as support heroes from LoL/Paladins.

GM players often say they’re the strongest role in the game - and at their SR that might be the case. It’s just that the fun factor is non-existent compared to what it was in 2016.

I think (primarily) hitscan falloff and/or ranged competency in general needs looking at.

They need to figure out a way to force heroes like Widow, Soldier, Ashe, Cole, and Sojourn into more vulnerable positions in order to be effective. They’re just too strong at range in a game with one (possibly slow, uncooperative) tank.

It will depend on the rank, ofc. But too many heroes are too capable from too far away.

I hate Ana.

I did a couple of years ago, and it was the best choice I made. Mei / Sombra are fun on a stick.

the more the game caters to your lower elo… the more broken heroes become. As we’ve seen throughout the years of OW devs catering to lower elo instead of properly balancing the game…
