Gamers are the most oppressed minority
Preach Inky!!!
Welp im not saing that its in every game but for me ususaly dps or flex is flaming his teammates, even other dps players, didnt saw to much tanks doing it, maybvy because im most of time on tank (also solo tank), and healers also was not so common for me. And also i had not so plesent meeting with this kind of people who think that there are heroes like mercy that are for girls and men should do dmg, i know they are stupid but people like that exist and they are not moira/lucio players.
This 100%.
It’s also SUPER rare for a DPS to recognize exactly how much help they got from tanks and support to make it possible for them to get gold elims. Just “I got gold elims what was silver?” like bruh I have 12K healing because you approached the point like it was a deathtrap from Saw and you thought “screw it, I’m going straight through that barbed wire IDGAF”
Because they are playing every class as a flanker, leaving a frustrated Rein and a bored Zen on the payload.
Not sure who they’re all off fighting, because Zen and I just lost a 2v6 fight while they were all off “flanking” and then had the nerve to ask why no one was on the truck. I can see your silhouettes. I know you’re so far away from the action you’re using roaming data.
I wish we could take endorsements away from people. That “good teamwork” level is a lie.
actually i think this is too simplistic of a view. dps’s job is to cut through healing so if you see an enemy on half hp while constantly getting hit and healed but not enough damage to cut through the healing that is the dps’s fault.
however, if dps hit a target at range, it’s often unsafe to follow up to finish off the targets in those situations and it’s actually the job of dive tanks or dive dps to finish them off.
of course the frontline tanks don’t have that option(rein, zarya), so the enemy squishies will escape on low hp a lot more unless your dps are dive or have really good/burst (this is part of why soldier and mccree are so subpar in most situations).
so i think it’s more accurate to say dive characters finish off low hp targets, regardless of whether they are a tank or a dps
actually even my first statement is probably not true. technically the dps could be the one’s unable to quite kill through healing too. But tanks are more often providing the consistent dps that counteracts the enemy healing and allows the dps to perform work
Could we get the kermit typing furiously gif up in the chat? Someone?
It would summarize this whole thread pretty nicely, if I do say so myself.
Technically, every time you don’t endorse someone, you ARE taking it away. The level decays over time, and the higher it is, the faster it decays.
Doesn’t it stop decaying at 3 though?
Does it? I could have sworn it continuously decays. But maybe I’m mistaken.
Perhaps we should use the power of the internet to find out.
I found an old thread where someone decayed to 1 from 2, so apparently it does continue to decay. I guess 3 just has a very slow decay rate.
Positioning: For most DPS, you want to be at an angle where you’re protected by your team. If you aren’t directly protected by your tanks, you usually want to use the angle created by your team’s presence to peek a single enemy at a time. You should depart from that only when your mobility/escape allows you to retreat to a safe area or the enemies are incapable of significantly damaging you (distant snipers and Pharahs).
EDIT: And when your tanks push up, you need to push up with them and help your team gain map control and/or get picks.
Killing stuff: Prioritize targets based on value and likelihood of a kill. Value is situational and complicated, but for DPS a major factor is threat to your team, and for tanks a major factor is their ability to pose an obstacle to your team. Supports are almost always worth trying to kill when you have a good chance unless something urgent is happening. Likelihood to kill is based on their health, how much their health is going to increase or decrease over time from other factors (unless you have high burst), their distance from cover (unless you have high burst or can stay close to them), their distance from their team (relative to their mobility), and what cooldowns they’ve used.
Bravo! Bravo!
If anyone has a valid opinion on the dps controversy here it’s this guy.
Basics. That was all I wanted to know about when praticipating in a discussion with others.
Edit: Even though you mashed up a lot in just two simple goals it still clearly defines what it takes to play a proper dps.
More than likely it’s the whole “everyone is a victim” philosophy that’s going around these days.
Mhhm. Victimization.
Or better yet self-victimization.
Turninf yourself and others like you into a oppressed group to gain control in society or to gain an advantage without placing the same effort or stabdards of others who otherwise had to show a higher level fo effort and talrnt to achieve said goals.
If dps mains want to cry they will cry. But you do not offer the entire cookie jar to a whining child. You comfort them and even just one cookie is considered a bad way to reapond to them. Even if it’s just one cookie.
Because with enough crying that child will know they can get the entire jar if they cry enough.
This is victimization.
each role need other role:
-Tank need good dps and support
-Dps need good tank and support
-Support need good tank and dps
Funny, but I have a very different experience as a support main.
I mean, I see blame been thrown around equally to each side, but I sure notice a lot more when people are directing criticism towards me, so I guess it’s natural?
I see dps getting the least amount of blame.
When it does come up is when people pick flankers for defense and get no kills or fights are lasting forever due to excellent tanking/healing but for some reason nothing is dying. (especially when those dps are burst characters like Junkrat, Widow, Doomfist, Hanzo)
I support and tank a lot so it is very obvious when your 3 dps chars aren’t securing kills and are dying first.
That’s one of those big indicators too. When the priority targets are living yet the dps are dropping like flies with no picks it becomes very obvious.
Funniest thing to me is when you mention the lack of dps getting kills, you lose the point, then your Genji Dragon blades and gets 4 kills. “Yeah right, dps aren’t getting kills”
You realize that you had to use an Ult to get a kill, and then used it at the worst possible time. They just going to spawn right on that payload all groups up.
GEMKI MAIN HARASSES MERCALI GODDESSES Blizz pls delete???
Lol i actually love how they replace hero names for their made up stuff. Used to visit their reddit to get a good chuckle, i never felt like they were discriminating me for maining Mercy
It’s not always DPS. Sometimes I see second tank nowhere near the front line, trying to flank alone for some unbeknown reason. Other times I’ll see an ally Moira on the team and for the entire game I won’t see one yellow healing orb in a team fight, not one.
Everyone can mess up from time to time, but since most people play DPS, logically, they will take the bigger chunk of the blame.
