DPS mains frustrate me

When did I ever say it takes seconds to learn a new hero?

The real reason why it’s hard to play around a main tank is because the main tank is responsible for map control, which is one of the most important but overlooked parts of Overwatch. How does a Mccree kill people if he doesn’t have high ground? How does a Genji kill people with dragonblade if the winston doesn’t offer a distraction? How does a Widowmaker do anything if the winston is jumping on him all game? How does a good Doomfist/Genji play around a D.Va that consistently boosts into his face whenever he dives a support? And Reinhardt isn’t the only tank that has map control. Winston gains map control by diving, shielding and disrupting.

You mention the example of a Reinhardt sitting on the payload while the dps carries. Okay, but what if the Reinhardt walks into the enemy reinhardt charges him off a cliff? What if you whack the enemy reinhardt into a corner and clean up the rest of the team? What if you bait the enemy earthshatter and pull off a big shatter of your own? There are ways for main tanks to carry… but, not by headshotting the entire enemy team. In fact, when you’re playing Rein you’d often want to be OFF the payload and take even more space from the enemy and capture key positions.

Also, I do play Rein/Winston/Zen in this meta. I’m a 4.2k flex main… I play several heroes from just about every role. Main tank isn’t particularly fun this season I agree, but it’s not bad either… you’ve just gotta be a bit masochistic.

Don’t see how that will help you? Guy bad as Hanzo is prob even worse with any other hero

That’s because QP is for fun, and we use QP to practice … fun.

Yeah, it’s Torb’s fault that someplayers believe they need to kill half of defence to move from the choke …

Like I said above … Rein going pass the choke without us killing half of the enemy team? Report him for throwing.

And lose SR as a tank or healer? Yeah, I see everyone doing that, since you asked nicely  . Want to climb out of low-ranks? Play DPS hero, maximize your fire, and never-ever switch. You’ll climb in a no-time … unless you get banned first. Oh well, whatever comes first …

I don’t even know why you’re trying to argue.

Honestly, my five minute Moira was about as good as my five hour Moira.

And where did I say it takes seconds to learn a new hero?

You didn’t understand fully what I said.

Yes tanks do initiate team fights. But all to often while I push forward, there are times when team mates straggle behind. As a rein my job is to push forward, if the DPS needs to re position and needs extra time, they never say anything.

You should play tanks for a bit so you understand where I’m coming from because you are arguing without having all the facts.

Technically 5 minutes is only 300 seconds. Therefore you did say that because well over 300 seconds have passed since you said that.

Okay then, what are you implying here?

This game is so much more frustrating with profiles hidden , i lost 3 games yesterday purely becuse no one was playing there favored position. i have enough practise were i can play any tank or support in plat.

it took half the game to get me on main tank , and another guy on flex tank that knews how to tank. by that point it was over.

I’m implying that bronze are bad at the game and it doesn’t matter

You cannot simply expect someone to play Genji or widow when they are hard heroes to learn

Op said they play few heroes when dps heroes are the majority and I explained why

It’s like expecting someone to drive a plane, a car, a boat then a tank because they are the same right? Sombra is miles different from doomfist, most players can’t handle playing many different heroes

I really think they should scrap the eliminations medal in favor of 2 separate medals: final blows and assists. That, along with damage, paints a clearer picture of how people are contributing.

This is really just overall a pointless thread. Every role has got their problems not just one. Work as a team or don’t than die as not an team.

There will always be games where your team refuses to push in with you; I won’t deny that. And those type of games absolutely suck. But there are also tanks who will push in without a shred of communication with their team prior to doing so. It’s silly to automatically assume the blame is on DPS (or tanks/supports, as some people do), because every game is different. I’m saying that communication from all roles is important, and everyone should be expected to let their team know what they’re planning to do, when they’re going to push in, when someone on the enemy team is low/one-shot, etc.

I have about 30 hours each on Rein, Winston, D.Va, & Zarya. So while I’ll admit that tank is my weakest role (I’m a poor Rein, a decent Winston & Zarya, and a good D.Va), I do have an idea of how they play.

Several hundred hours of “it’s only QP”, but maybe 20-30 “strong” games to get decent with a hero … That’s one more reason why people create smurfs, because you can’t learn anything in “it’s only QP”.

never said they had to play every DPS on the roster. I have 1 main and 4 comfort picks.

But most DPS players can only do 1 or 2 heroes.

Your anger fuels DPS mains like myself.

Now scream louder!

Normally, your posts aren’t nearly as toxic.
I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt because you’ve offered some pretty good suggestions for mercy before, and you normally back your claims up with evidence, so I’m willing to assume you’re having a bad day.
However this is hands down the rudest thing I’ve seen you post.
Just because some mercy one tricks frustrate you doesn’t mean you should generalize all mercy mains as mercy one tricks, or all support mains in general.
This is pretty inflammatory if you ask me

I think every role has a problem doing what they are supposed to do😂
