DPS carry potential

Bastion I could understand, but saying Hanzo and Sombra are as bad is just down right wrong in this scenario.

Hanzo can do 250 damage from any range, which means he’s not only a threat from afar, but he’s also more dangerous than Reaper ever could be at his best range. Sombra’s carry potential comes from her ability to cancel entire ults with a 6 second cooldown ability and her Ultimate.

As for bastion, he has armor, mid-range, a burst ability that doubles as a versatile mobility tool, and a turret form that shreds squishies. He’s relatively easy to kill though, since he suffers from a massive hitbox, which is why I’d consider him in the same spot as Reaper.

In comparison to them, what does Reaper have that’s better?

  • Ult? The payment for using it is your life
  • TP? Same payment as the ultimate
  • Wraith? It’s decent, but it’s exceptionally easy to follow up on because it’s only 1.5 times faster than regular walking speed. Not only that, but it pairs horribly with shotguns for obvious reasons.
  • Lifesteal? You can’t contest anything with how little he gets with max damage, let alone on average damage per shot.
  • Shotguns? Comes at the price of short-range, meanwhile long-range weapons do more max damage than you could ever do with his shotguns anyway.

When another hero pockets Reaper by negating one of these weaknesses, his value increases dramatically, which is why you see him in meta’s like this one where his best pockets are buffed.
