Doomfist isn't OP; his counters SUCK

Sounds like release Mccree, Roadhog, and Genji. Not op but counters suck.

Why isn’t McCree in OP? It is the first hero I think of when I want to counter a Doomfist. Sure he sucks too but he is pretty good against Doom.

Sombra is a solid counter and she’s far better right now than a lot of players think. She is probably the strongest, easiest, and most reliable counter to Doomfist currently. Some of the other heroes you listed don’t even counter Doomfist all that much, like Reaper, Torb or Bastion.

Cree only Counters Doomfist when he shoots him first.

Would Mei be considered a counter to him?

The problem isn’t that his counters suck. It’s that he doesn’t have enough counterplay.
If you’re Rein, what do you do? How about if you’re Ana? How about Zen? How about -> insert a thousand other heroes <- ? A lot of those heroes, you can’t just swap off. So a lot of required heroes can’t actually use skill to fight him. They automatically lose. That’s the problem.

Kinda like how Sym can’t basically anything whatsoever against a Pharah no matter how skilled she is. This is the problem: Hard counters need to not exist, and certain heroes need more counterplay.

I do agree.
If you practiced Doomfist, you can be super good and obliterate the enemy.
How is it fair if he gets nerfed or reworked so that he’s easier to play but less impactful, how is it fair for the players who spent the time, their reward gets removed.
I really don’t like changes that tend to make a character easier to play.
At the same time I’m not favorable of changes meant to make a character harder to play either, if the character was easy to pick up, let him be easy to pick up.

And Doomfist played by someone who knows how to play him can be hell, I’ll give anyone that, but the player worked his ratedM for that. Kind of deserved.
We have a huge cast with sitting ducks not being able to do their jobs.

Mccree V1.0 was Op. period.

I used to main him back in these days, and he was a monster… FTH was overtuned. Like… a lot.

They need to raise his skill floor again though, preferably by reverting his shield gain. They buffed him repeatedly before they even addressed his inconsistencies so when they finally did he ended up in this position of being one buff away from being broken op.

Her hack sometimes breaks for no reason when someone uses a movement ability.

Genji was OP.

I think Hog was gutted before Doomfist was release (or shortly after) but from what I remember he countered Doomfist pretty hard, I recall conspiracy thread that talked about one of the main reasons Hog was gutted was because they didn’t want to have a ā€œbadā€ launch with Doomfist.

Until they enemy find out how to check for sombra and has to port back and have doomfist poops on your team while you are away.

No they don’t, unless Doomfist actively doesn’t pay attention. He can easily destroy all of them.
And most of the cast has 1 way to maybe avoid 1 ability. But Doomfist has 3.
It has nothing to do with being outplayed, Doomfist is just a busted hero, with little to no counter play.

Roadhog got gutted 2-3 weeks before Doomfist release - Blizzard destroyed him because ā€œgetting oneshot is not okā€ and then they released Doomfist… yea.

If your counters suck, you are OP by default. Everything in this game is relative

Hack is interrupted by 1 point of damage.
Essentially Doomfist has a really easy counterplay to his biggest counter, while nobody gets to play against Doomfist unless they are invulnerable basically.

If your counters suck, other heroes should still have a decent fighting chance.
But they don’t.

I’ll be honest, I’m conflicted with McCree. His flashbang is super useful in canceling his mobility, but a Doomfist with a few shields already on his body makes it hard to kill.

I might add him to the list since the poor cowboy isn’t in a good place either

From my experience on the PTR, Torb is a fantastic counter to Doom now. His turret is still not something you can afford to ignore, and now that he can manually control its targeting it’s a bit more reliable in getting it to shoot Doom considering his large hitbox.

Overload can also be used to tank a fully charged Rocket Punch and immediately punish the Doomfist afterwards. Same thing with the Slam N Jam combo he has.
