Doomfist balance

Literally this. I don’t get why people ask for anything else. Revert the stuff that made him clunky and too weak and unfun to play against. Now everyone is happy.

He needs a helluva lot more than that. This for example:

The hero will always be a chore to play against and to play as, as long as they keep buffing and focusing on the most obnoxious part of his kit no one likes.

Just revert doom to dps then tone him down to make him suitable for 5v5

Doomfists Future is looking really dark

A thought just hit me. Doomfist was weak in season 1. Doom players and everyone was saying Buff doom and when they finally did, they buffed him too much and it was hated by everyone but Doom players. Then he was shortly nerfed into the ground. Even worse than season 1 and now everyone except us is satisfied he’s gone. Doom needs buffed again more than ever and it worries me that nobody but doom players will support it and theyll be like when he was buffed it was overpowered so they wont want doom buffed again and because doom is not a popular hero. Blizzard will just not touch him again and he’ll keep being garbage

Simple answer, Heroes that feel more annoying to play against/ deal with get harsher corrections once they are out of line. Heroes like Doom, Roadhog, Tracer, etc. will always be treated harsher because if they are meta they destroy the game. Think back to Gigahog and how many players left Overwatch 1 completely during that time because the game felt terrible. So Blizz is definitely doing the right move here with the harsh nerfs, it’s better to do small buffs later than a nerf thats too weak now, because they would loose players otherwise.

Blizzard if y’all wanna balance doomfist , take advice from actual doomfist players who’ve put an effort into mastering that hero eg. GetQuakedOn , Zbra and Chipsa. We just want our favorite hero to be consistent and in balanced state that’s all and for the love of god please revert back the punch nerf from 4 sec to 3 again because it destroyed lot of people’s muscle memory on him

This option seems like a winner (see post I replied to).

We need Block’s damage threshold back down though. The enemy team have to be complete nimrods to empower punch with it set at 100. It’s literally worse than it was in season 1, we never wanted it to be longer, we just wanted it to be more useful.

Important note to any dev that sees this, and I hope somehow you do. I remind you.

You took an entire movement ability away from us when you moved us to the tank role. Three second Punch was the compensation that kept us mobile. You can’t just take that away and expect the character to still function properly.

I highly suggest bringing on a couple specialists to the team for Doomfist and Wrecking Ball, as they require special knowledge to balance. These aren’t characters you can just throw cooldown changes onto and call it day.

Flats breathed too…did that cause something to be nerfed?

Sometimes it feels like no one in the decision process play Doom.

No way the 4s CD would have been released otherwise.

That, combined with the way they overbuffed him in the 1st place, screams like they don’t know what they are doing… Like it’s fine if you don’t have experts on every hero but any plat and above Doomfist could tell you, also I don’t know LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS THAT PLAY HUNDREDS OF HOURS.

1- revert to 3s

2- get back to 90 powerblock (yes 80 was way too low)

Powerblock to empower punch taking 125 instead of 100 dmg. That is significant and consider this is a bug. It not allow to charge empowered punch from on shot:
direct hit from phara (120)
direct hit from junkrat (120)
sigma rock (100)
fully charged widow shot (120)
genji slash (110)

Also, “small” increasing his punch cooldown highly affects not only on his flow, but reduces total amount of overheal and reduces frequency of gaining overhealth in total.

So why then they reduce his overhealth gain from 40 to 35, if punch cooldown massively affects to it? They are don’t understand what they doing and what will be the next consequences.

In total doomfist become indeed worst than he was in S1. Despite his buffs on ult: the worst ult in the game.
And he need a buffs

for real, doomfist is incredibly flawed right now. They need to bring back that punch cd to 3s and bring back techs

Honestly i feel he is still too strong. I have seen doomfists dive in 1v5, kill our supports and leave, while their block saves them most of the time.

That was one of the skilled players.
On other heroes even beaindead person can affect a battle a lot. That was problem in your bad teammates and good player on doomfist.

Just because someone is skilled doesn’t mean they should reach unlimited power levels.

Honestly, Doomfist is fine where he is and could even use a small nerf still. All this talk about they need to listen to DF mains when it comes to balancing DF is insane and how we will end up with another OP DF. e.g. Imagine only listening to Sombra mains to balance Sombra.

It’s not like we want an op doomfist. All you see here is us wanting his cooldown lowered so it doesn’t mess up his flow, the stun OFF the punch (less op) and block lowered bc it’s super hard to get a punch. Like literally just back to season one doom with 5 more overhealth generation and a punch that does more damage than a quick melee. And it’s not just us. Content creators and streamers agree that doomfist is bad and they’re bad at balancing him

new devs might be worse than old ones. they thought 4s punch could somehow work on a hero who has no primary fire outside of melee range and his only defense has no cc resistance. hilarious

Why exactly does he need a nerf? He’s currently an average pick that will tend towards subaverage as time goes on and players learn to adapt to him.

Yes they should actually be asking Zbra, quake or chipsa what kind of balances they would like to see on the character.

I’m pretty confident they will say just revert the rocket punch back to 3 seconds… Your mobility is so critical on this character to survive and counter play.
