You must be a new player.
Moira fade, even immobile, made her unkillable by any CC. She could avoid Sigma Ult too.
It makes the game more complicated to understand, yet, this is what happens when the game direction priority is adding content instead of creating a close, definitive design.
Sombra hack is much more arbitrary also.
Because iirc, it heals before it grants extra max life, it doesn’t grant green life to hurt mates. So as long as they don’t get their max life, they don’t get extra life. It makes sense to me.
Couldn’t verify this. The wiki says about Ana grenade :
“Has no effect on overhealth.”
So it shouldn’t prevent greenlife from Brig ult. Maybe its a bug, in the way of overhealing from Rally is coded (as healing and not as flat bonus) or maybe it just doesn’t prevent greenlife and the chaos of battle sows confusion about this interaction.
afaik the only other thing besides mauga that can escape is sombra if she uses translocator before she gets hit with it. Which is kinda odd since a lot of abilities get cancelled if cced mid cast but ig it’s from when it was a physical object she had to put down and it just kinda stayed that way
I vaguely remember when they implemented this, but it was mainly because so many heroes could escape Zarya’s ult so they disabled movement abilities from being used to escape.
IIRC Reaper and Moira were exceptions at once point, but they removed that as well. I think the only few heroes that can use their abilities to escape are:
Lifeweaver’s Petal Platform/Life Grip
Orisa’s Fortify (I am not sure about this, someone please confirm/correct).
Symmetra’s teleporter.
I don’t agree with it, per say, but I understand what the goal was. It just…feels off that you get some abilities when stepping on a Junkrat trap, but even those are disabled for Grav. Reaper should be able to Wraith, for example. He’s not going anywhere. but Mei can use Cryo.
Stop giving characters escape abilities if you don’t want them to escape, simple.
Far better ways of achieving the same thing, if devs knew a thing or two.
The game having too much mobility is a different topic, and not one I disagree with, but again, stop giving people escape abilities if you don’t want them to escape. You can’t give someone a tool and expect them not to use it!
I think this is partially why it’s this way, but don’t worry, it’s negligible at this point. There are a LOT of ways to negate/disrupt her ult now. Shoot, LW has two ways in his kit alone
There was a very pathetic time in Zarya’s OW1 life where basically all mobility could escape grav. Rein charge, fade, shadow step, Tracer’s Blink, Translocator, GUARDIAN ANGEL. It was so easy to slip out of that they had to change it to disable movement abilities because the ult was so useless against most of the cast.
when you said “sidewalk piglet pitching arm” I pictured the Piglet from Looney Tunes (merry melodies?) in an episode where they played baseball and thought you were referring to that, wow, what a -whoosh- on my part
hard ccs like grav, cage fight and trap disable movement abilities by default, which is why you can use bubble or petal but not fade or wraith. If your ability changes your movement speed in anyway, cc will disable it. Its coding logic not visual logic
