How about switching to make the team composition work better?
This right here, you can ask a stranger nicely, but respect their decision, be the team player that you take so much pride of being first, not end up being the toxic waste that you hate so much.
It’s just my opinion, but yelling at teammates to switch is equivalent to yelling at strangers in public for not wearing the most trendy fashion, I don’t want to be that jerk.

Which means I’ll lose, switching is fundamental queue times aren’t an excuse to not switch.

If I queue specifically for support I would want to play Mercy 80% of the time, or Zenyatta. I’ll take a Baptiste or maybe a Lucio, but if I truly don’t want to play Moira or Brig then I won’t.
If I feel like tanking then I’ll queue for tank, otherwise I just won’t queue for tank.
Not sure where you doing nothing from but Ok…
Queue times reinforces the mentality of staying on the hero you like and not switching.

Correct. I’m stating that the meta does not affect 99% of the playerbase. I see all heroes played in Bronze because the meta is not even a consideration therefore hero pools is removing choice, not adding variety on those matches as they already have max (based on number of heroes available and role queue) variety.

You know while we are all busy arguing about what to swap or who to swap, the Doom/Widow/Hanzo/Ball ect one tricks are refining their skills and sharpening their fangs. At some point no amount of swapping/countering is gonna stop them.
It allows variety of counterplay and it’s only probably going to be at the max 1 tank 2 DPS 1 support. It’s going to be healthy overall so cheese heroes like reaper or mei won’t dominate low ranks for a week
They don’t. Reaper and Mei are played in some matches yes but they don’t ‘dominate’ anything. They are just like any other hero, they are played when people want to play those heroes.
This is my point is that at low SR all heroes are played almost equally allowing for tons of variety, removing heroes removes that variety.
It’s not going to ruin low ranks. I do hope, however that they atleast put pools from diamond up.
