I don’t feel like most of the roster feels fun at all to play as so I’d rather get good at the characters I find mechanically fun (Moira, Brig, Sym, Torb). I never feel like I’m FORCED to swap. If I do for some strange reason swap though it’s only because I want to try something new (maybe I want to Mercy or Lucio ?)
I like the idea of countering by pick.
Overwatch is not a normal fps and it shouldn’t be.
It gives place for strategy and brain and the pick can make a huge difference.
Personally I like this mechanism although there are some problems with it since there’s not always answers for some of the situations and sometimes the answer lies in another role like countering a widow where your best bet is in the tank category.
But when switching pays off, it feels great knowing you won the game thanks to your knowledge of the game and good thinking.
So if to conclude, I’m a big fan of flexing when it’s needed.
i would if my team also tried switching…even if we lose anyways seeing that my team tried to make different heroes work makes me feel the happiest
me switching trying to adjust to the feeding one trick just makes me feel like i wasted my time
No. I don’t not like swapping heroes. The only time I do it is in Mystery Heroes. If you wanted me to not care about the characters. None of them should have personalities and all can use the same load outs.
Ultimates are not lost during switching. I have to constatnly explain this. Since everyone will go: “BUT Tracer gets ult, switch to Zarya.” Stop thinking like that. Give Tracer’s ultimate charge internal number to the next hero. You gained no advantage. Since you built the ult up fair and square. And have to finish charging the higher hero. If you get a lower hero. You lost the extra effort on the harder hero. But you are using a weaker ult. There is no problem either way. Especially in 2-2-2 mode. You can’t actually use Tracer and switch to Zarya.
I purposely try to play a different hero every round…and yes I do switch mid round…I find the idea of a main incredibly boring
Also probably why I like MH so much
Considering i only play QP then i don’t swap often, im in the belief of if you are good with the character you’re playing and you’re having fun, keep playing them. However that being said, if you’re doing god awful and your character is hindering the team massively then yes, you should swap, but i hate being forced to swap cause my character is a “throw pick” (even if im doing well with them)
No, of course I don’t like swapping off the hero I wanted to play just because the enemy got a player who hard counters me. I can play the heroes to counter them but I qued because I wanted to play the hero I was playing originally.
Mercy and Lucio are my favorite heroes by far. However, if I feel like Mercy or Lucio isn’t working, I will switch to Zen, Brig, or Moira. I would love more supports added to the game. I’m still waiting for a SMG support. Basically, I would like it if that support had Ana bullets in an SMG (the healing and damage numbers would be different than Ana’s to compensate for the fast fire rate).
sometimes I think that I should switch, but I am 75% ultimate and I think that the ultimate can provide value, so I wait until using the ultimate to swith after that.
The problem is that after using it, in the next fight I am in 54% ultimate again…
In other ocassions, I dont have the change to charge and use the ultimate, so sometimes is better to trash the 75% charge and pick a counter.
I think when I swap it is usually out of frustration with not getting value out of my pick
HOWEVER
When I swap to something and the game turns around? 10/10 most satisfying moments and also now I feel I’ve CARRIED, and you’re all welcome.
Sure I guess I usually switch between 2 heroes a match that’s about it
I like the ability to flex, and can usually respond with swaps quickly during a match.
I’d like an option in the spawn room to request a specific hero, or for a role to swap to a specific hero (or hero pair)
As a hacker, Sombra should be selectable from every role lol.
I often feel the need to swap to Sombra to deal with DF, but I’m frequently stuck on support.
I usually try to practice often with 2-3 heroes in each category, each one covering each other’s weaknesses. So when I need to swap, I usually don’t mind, because it’s not like I’m forced onto a hero that I don’t like
It always feels like you’re completely helpless unless you can play the full 16 DPS roster.
