Do we even need forced 2/2/2

We don’t need forced 2/2/2, just role lockouts to ensure a minimum of 1/4/1.

  1. If active DPS heroes >3 = lock out DPS heroes.
  2. If active tank heroes >3 = lock out tank heroes.
  3. If active healer heroes >3 = lock out healer heroes.
  4. If active heroes >4 and healers = 0, lock out DPS & tanks.
  5. If active heroes >4 and tanks = 0, lock out DPS & healers.

At that point, you ensure that you’ll never have 5 DPS (or any other role) again. Every team will have a tank and a healer, and players aren’t locked into roles…this maintains flexibility for players who play across multiple roles and maximizes team adaptability.

No matter how much anyone may want to deny it, there are times where 1/4/1 comps work. Likewise for 1/3/2, 2/3/1, 3/2/1, 2/1/3, and 3/1/2. And clearly, 3/0/3 is aa viable and valuable comp, because it has now been meta twice in the game’s history.

All of you willing to throw away 7 viable comps because you hate GOATS deserve the boring and stagnant game that will result.

Forced 2 tanks isn’t always going to get you ideal pairings. Only a few tanks are main tanks, the rest are bruisers.

Forced 2 DPS is rarely going to get you ideal pairings. Hitscan vs projectile matters. And you’ll get some really bad pairs. Double sniper. Double builder.

Forced 2 supports also isn’t guaranteed to give ideal pairs, although at this point most supports can work together well enough to be viable.

Mostly, what forced 2/2/2 is about are DPS mains and one-tricks being able to queue and guarantee they never have to flex to anything they dislike for the good of the team. It’s about ensuring them a place in every game.

It’s about selfish play, folks. Don’t enable this nonsense.
