D.Va is like the only character who consistently calls out, and says what she’s doing.

Dva sounds kind of grating to my ears and then her lines are pretty cringe too. So, annoying. =p
Oh and to add to the "how cute is D’Va and her VA ? " discussion , Charlet Chung donates 10% of all autograph etc. payments to charity

When the game released, I picked the giant mech to tank for my team. It wasn’t until it got destroyed that a girl popped out. I don’t know if a child belongs fighting for real, but apparently her country allows children in the military, so…
They retconned her to be 19 not 16 so very much an adult

I don’t consider 19 to be ‘adult,’ but I understand what you mean. Still, that’s too young for military. If OW allows it, then it’s alright I suppose. We have a hamster after all. Take all help offered in face of serious threat to global peace.

That’s not it.
The part I find annoying about her is her over-the-top “idol” persona combined with her extreme hyper-competitive nature. I don’t mean it as an insult. It’s strictly a matter of low interpersonal compatibility; I do not have much tolerance for people with either of those personality traits.
I mean, her actual name is D I V A. That’s not something a person who is easy to relate normally gets called.
As a video game character, she’s amusing. If she were she an actual person I would be overwhelmed by an intense urge to roll my eyes at everything she says and I do not think I would be able to suppress this urge for more than a few minutes.
oh I agree most 19yr olds would be still children in my eyes too (I’m pushing 50) but where I live they can vote/drink/join military at 18 so that’s 1 yr of military service before getting to where we are now.
Watch the shooting star short , it really shows how Hana Song agrees with you.
One of my two favourite shorts as it features Hana Song as a person and not focused on D’Va as a personality. Other favourite is The Last Bastion, so much feeling with 0 words.

yea the short seems like a whole different person, shes so serious and grave in the animation and im not saying thats a bad thing it seems really believable in the situations shes in. i like her attitude in the animation but i also like her cuteness in the game since it is a fun match your playing and it doesnt have that saving the world feel to it

I think that was the idea behind the short was to show that side of the character. It’s weird how good the shorts are for this game. Expected from Blizzard as lore is something they do better than most but still not something you really expect with a FPS type game.
I play her because she is hilarious.
I used to play her because she was fun but the constant addition off CC ruined it (her constant nerfing didn’t help either). I don’t play much these days but when I do it’s mostly Hog and some dps here and there and maybe D.Va for like one game.
