I’ve seen many people defend this character and say he is perfectly fine, which is an opinion of course but what makes it funny is when they say he is hard to play, I think he is one of the most braindead characters in the game, and whats funnier is that he could get a verrrrrryyy small projectile nerf and his mains will cry in pain that it will destroy him and make him F tier. This character feels fun to play but dear lord fighting him is so damn annoying. What is so hard about lobbing 2 mines in front of you? whats the difficulty of brainlessly spamming shots into a corridor?
Junkrat is such a annoying nightmare to play against so i’m just wondering if the hatred for him is in a small group or by many.
Sombra (played her so much its fun to know how they play)
Widow
Ana
Ram
weaver
Are probably some of my favorites to fight against, but only a few characters ruin the mood, and any character can be annoying if played very very well
I used to feel like junkrat was annoying, but yoy gotta just treat him like a widow of sorts, and stay where its safe and attack at off angles. Also constantly look out for traps.
Yeah, I know Widow, Weaver, and especially Ana are definitely not on that list for me. Reinhardt can also become a pain very easily. But I usually don’t mind Junkrats. You can deny them a lot of value just by not going where they think you’re going, which is easier on some maps than others, but still. And having been behind the Frag Launcher myself, I can tell you that if a Junkrat is hitting you and you can see him, he’s being enabled by his team. Assassinrat is the only way you can make aggressive plays as that character, and doing so takes a lot more setup and risk than whatever Widow does, no matter how infuriating it is in the moment.
Saying these heroes are fun to play against is wild lmao. What heroes do you play that these 3 are tolerable, nay fun to play against?
Yeah he’s kinda annoying and you can’t go in small rooms with him but i’d rather be locked out of small rooms than everywhere on the map within Widow’s LoS.
Also his one-shot takes infinitely more skill and is infinitely riskier to pull off than Widow’s so if one has to go it’s defo Widow IMO.
I play a lot of Ana, its fun to think of it from their perspective which makes it easier to target them with a sleep dart, and pissing people off as Ana makes it more fun,
Has someone who play a lot of junkrat. It’s funny when i fight against other junkrat or other heroes they switch to Pharah to counters. Bunch of cowards.
He’s not fundamentally broken like some other characters are, but he’s definitely not stable atm.
There’s almost nothing that you can do against him in a close range fight because he just explodes you in an instant and his bouncing super-sized nades make spamrat an exceptionally annoying thing to play against from a distance.
I think there is a goldilocks zone for his damage balance, but I don’t play the character enough to know where that would be. Maybe a longer reload time would make it easier to challenge him by providing a window of opportunity for counter-play.
The moment you get into ranks where people position well and actually pay attention to where nades are going — where you can’t spam, Junkrat has to make drastic changes to gameplay. He becomes harder to get value out of than any hitscan, all the while being hard countered by them.
Also, if you can’t hit airshots, you’re not playing Junkrat.
He’s really easy to kill (if you can aim) if that’s what you mean.
Do whatever you want to him if you give him his full combo back. But his projectile is maybe the hardest in the entire game to aim accurately. His enemies standing in his very loud very obvious very glowy spam isn’t his fault/problem.
What kind of player do you have to be to either not avoid that or continue to stand in it/never learn from dying from it over and over?
Junkrat has the 3rd highest skill ceiling after Echo and Genji (due to of Dupe and Deflect).
Don’t fight him in a corridor. Junk will try to fight you in the spaces where he has a big advantage like this. Just don’t engage him there. Take a different path if he’s blocking you. Once you get the chance to fight him out in the open, he’s disadvantaged.
