Sombra lives in a world different from most heroes. Her, sym, Mei, bastion. Heroes like these, they’re hated by everyone, just because they’re annoying. Not because they’re good or bad. These heroes if made too strong will turn this game upside down and destroy it. They’re just annoying to more people.
NYXL just clapped London with Sombra lol?
Yes one game is proof that the win rates are wrong huh?
Also be honest nyxl claps everyone. Have you seen their lineup?
Seriously you pick a single game to base the balancing of overwatch on when we have a crazy amount of data?
I won a 5v6 game ONCE, 5v6 op?
A match NYXL would have won anyway.
I mean, Houston beating Titans was something, but it wasn’t entirely down to Sombra; it looked like Titans had set up for practising new things themselves, and didn’t expect Houston to make such a fight of it. Jjanu didn’t look at all comfortable on Zarya, so he went back to D.Va while Seominsoo stayed on Sombra himself, and Bumper played a lot of Winston, so they were playing some weird dive Tanking with Goats Support.
Meanwhile Kariv was on fire with the Sleeps everywhere.
Then why use her instead of someone else?
Because Sombra goats should counter regular goats, but Sombra herself is such a dumpster fire it doesn’t work in practice against equally good teams.
They tested it against lesser teams and it worked.
So that is what they have practiced.
I wouldn’t say “very low”, if it were increased it would have to be marginal.
You’re right about the fact that Sombra should be able to use beacon more for additional mobility and not just a means to survive and exit the fight.
-
Allow stealth to also be used as a reactionary defensive that gives her instant immunity for X seconds ( value TBD, but short ) and allows her to leave an engagement and/or avoid damage. The immunity would prevent stealth from being broken immediately after it’s used. This would function in a similar way to a Rogue’s vanish in WoW.
-
Add a X second ( value TBD ) duration to stealth, but with additional movement speed increase again.
-
Activate the CD of stealth when it’s used and increase the CD to X seconds ( value TBD, probably 10 + seconds )
These changes should provide a more diverse play style rather than just setting up and teleporting out if you think they’ll land CC or a kill shot. What’s important to note is that using beacon in the same way would still be an option so it wouldn’t necessarily force a dramatic change in play style.
A change like this would come at the expense of more counter play options or reduced value to EMP and/or hack. Give more value to her mobility, increase uptime in the fight, provide another option to survive, and maybe a slight increase in overall damage output by increasing clip size or base damage. ( The damage increase would have to be marginal though. )
I just don’t get your argument man. Sombra is apparently underpowered but pros use her above any other damage hero. It makes no sense to me.
Imagine you face the obstacle of cutting down a very large, tough tree that’s really old and sturdy (GOATS), and to do so, you’re given the choice of an ax (Sombra), or a bunch of random objects like a butter knife or garden clippers (other DPS heroes).
The ax is not particularly special in any way, it’s just a tool that happens to be good at chopping things down, so it works really well in that situation.
In context, Sombra chops the whole forest down with EMP unless she misses or just completely disregards the important tree(s) with the defensive support ult(s). Fortunately you have all the time in the world with infinite stealth to line up the swing.
You’re very much misrepresenting the analogy, but sure. If you bring a bunch of trees to a fight you shouldn’t be surprised when an ax is very strong versus it. There are a lot of team comps that are highly effective versus Sombra. It’s the team’s fault if their complete lack of ability to flex to another comp hurts them because they all get countered.
But Sombra shouldn’t have to rely on damage to be viable, a good Sombra relies on her utility. That’s just her thing, she’s doesn’t need to be reworked into a watered-down Tracer.
from this i can already see where this is going
tbh when you make posts saying ana is selfish because she needs skill and then you try to explain why sombra is fine, it’s hard to take you seriously.
she counters every hero in the game
You did see the part about her win-rate, right? This is clearly a false statement given how awful she does in everything.
Pros use her because the pros are constantly versing goats, and a hero that can temporarily shutdown abilities when versing an ability reliant comp is pretty good, but seemingly not good enough to have more than a 50% win-rate. That is why Sombra is run
No. I do not but I seriously think you are underestimating Sombra abilities.
She doesnt need to be played on her own harrassing individuals & warping if fail.
Just stick w/ your Team while being Invis & Hack someone under fire like Zarya or whoever that your Team can take out rapidly.
Hack counters the whole Game.
Win Rates do not tell the whole story of Sombra & everybody knows how useful she is. Nobody seriously believes that Sombra needs a Buff.
what about her pickrate?
she counters every hero, not a statement, a fact
Sixth lowest pick-rate on average, not much to go on there either.
I don’t want her nerfed, I just want more counterplay to EMP so some of that power can go into her main kit.
First thing I would add is her old speed when cloaked.
Exactly this.
The ratio of posts flat out demanding nerfs for Sombra to posts asking for advice on how to beat her is around 10:1.
I agree with a nerf on her utility.
She made me rage-quit the game every day, for a week now.
It’s not that players are good or not with her, she’s just too much and it’s frustrating to play against. Give her more damage, and don’t let her hack so much. This is overwatch, not stunwatch, sniperwatch or hackwatch.
