Disconnection from Overwatch only

Hi!! I’m having the same issues with disconnecting randomly. I’ve never had this issue until around Feb this year. I’m unsure how to fix it? I’ve checked my internet and it’s completely fine, but I still disconnect from the games, doesn’t matter which mode I’m in. And I’m also getting the bans due to the disconnection.
Help ):

Also, I’ve downloaded the winMTR but my hostname doesn’t seem to be working. I’m unsure if I’ve gotten the wrong one for it, or mine just doesn’t work.

First if you use COX for your ISP please contribute to this discussion.

If you connect through a different provider, please list that ISP along with your City, State/Providence, and Country and post your WinMTR. Here are the instructions in detail to make sure there are no problems:

WinMTR instructions:

  1. Download WinMTR from Download WinMTR-v092.zip (WinMTR) (Console players need a Windows Desktop Computer connected to the same network as their console to do this.)
  2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
  3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
  4. Run the WinMTR.exe
  5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph, or go to Video > Options > Display Network Performance Graph if you are on any platform including Console. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.
    Network Graph
note When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78
  6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
  7. Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
  8. Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

If in the event you can’t even connect to Overwatch and get into any game mode at all, please use one of the following IP addresses based on your geographical region:

  • US West - 24.105.30.129
  • US Central - 24.105.62.129
  • Brazil - 54.207.107.12
  • Europe - 185.60.114.159

There is an extremely high amount of data loss coming from your home router. Have you completed any end-user troubleshooting yet?

I went into the suggested link provided and did the recommended actions. I flushed my DNS and reset my routers. I have yet to test it, but I will let you know how it turns out after. Much appreciated for the help WyomingMyst!

The Problem is, it’s started since patch and got much more since then, so i don’t think it’s a problem on our side, but client side. Cause i already got disconnected twice, but not really, i still was in game, my loading screen for match started popping up every 10s and refreshed with a short black screen every 10s. Also the Points sometimes got displayed as my points on King of the hill instead of enemie points, should have made screenshots. Blizzard should watch their update before only claiming it’s users fault.

Unfortunately if there was a server side issue that affected a high majority of players, the reports would pour in at the same time. Right now I see reports from individual users but no discernable patterns to suggest a server end issue at this time. Therefore, troubleshooting the connection is always going to be the most helpful to both the player and for Blizzard.

i’m not talking about server problems  For me it seems like it’s a technical problem with overwatch itself. Cause these kinda reconnects don’t happen on real disconnects. I was in game doing nothing for full 30s as my team mates told me. It also didn’t show red leaving warning, but i was kicked out in tab list. It clearly was something else involved too, not only the connection.

But to show you my winMTR:

Edit: Removed the no response one

Then that would have to be reviewed by learning more about your computer and how it works with the game client. If there was a direct problem with the client, again everyone would be affected. However there is the possiblity where the client does not play well with specific setups if they are not configured correctly (I myself learned this when I had my major issue in season 2 that eventually lead me to help others and becoming an MVP). If troubleshooting leads to checking your computer and the client there we need system files.

As far as your WinMTR goes, there is only an exchange of 29 packets sent. This is not a very long test. Remember to try and run the test up to the point of disconnection, and then allow it to run for a few minutes longer. This allows us to get an accurate reading. Right now for the short time of this test, any hubs that are responding are responding accurately up until you reach Blizzard’s network provider.

you know thats not true  thats not how bugs work. Different Phones have different bugs, different os versions too, diferent hardware too, It started with the update for me, thats the only thing that changed.
Running test, for you, now longer.

Blizzard is refusing to fix the EU Servers for already two weeks now. Dont get your hopes up that the situation will get any better. If it was possibly to sue them i actually would do it.
