Disabling Paris and Horizon on QP?

This has been discussed before but I wanted to keep it going. Personally, I don’t have a huge issue with Horizon, I kinda like it but Paris I don’t like very much, regardless of that, people very often leave those maps because they don’t want to play them and it often creates issues. Sometimes it will take a while to get another player and it’s worse when multiple players leave which does happen as well. I have grown to have a negative view of these maps, specially Paris which most people seem to dislike, to the point that I too leave the match if I see players leaving it and that is saying something since I am very positive about the game in general and I like almost all maps. So the question is, should they remove Paris and/or Horizon from QP too?

I would like if they did, because everyone just leaves anyway and due to the low population, the lobbies never really get filled again.
So it’s just a 5 minute long 4v6 usually.

They should disable Paris. I routinely see 8-10 people leaving Paris before the round starts, and the other day I was in a game where over 20 people dodged the map.

I’ve never seen the same sort of map dodging on HLC, so even if it isn’t a particularly popular map most people seem to tolerate it so I don’t think it needs to be pulled from rotation.

Hopefully the updates they are working on improve the maps. Eichenwalde had issues at it’s launch as well but a few tweaks made it into good map.

Am I the only one who doesn’t mind Horizon?

instead of desabling it, they should try to implement and test it out with some changes every once in a while, for example creating a balcony on top of the Patisserie Galand where today is a roof next to choke in point A would GREATLY improve the map imo. Still would need to do something about point B but thats an honest good start.

I like Horizon, only the first part on attack can be annoying though.

their not going to use quickplay to test out changes for the map, its gonna be on the ptr

i honestly dont get why having a separate server only for tests… just use experimental cards… thats exatcly their point.

I’d be in favor. If Blizzard removed Paris and Horizon from the QP rotation, I expect the community response would be overwhemingly positive aside from the 1 or 2 people who actually like these maps. Keep the maps in the game obviously, but just as custom lobby options.

Blizzard has done this before in another game. Hanamura (in Heroes of the Storm) was widely disliked and it had design issues, so they removed it from rotation for several months and reworked the map, and put it back in.

  • By contrast, imagine if Blizzard randomly removed King’s Row from rotation; think of how negatively the community would react to that. That should say enough about the map situation right there.
