But you have room to imagine.”

Oh look just like pve and lore

Nothing new was revealed here btw. It’s more of their usual: “Please look forward to the future of this game, we have big things planned.” Nothing else.

Also, S18 wasn’t and isn’t “the beast” you devs think it is.

I’m happy with the updates and the progress the game has made, so there’s that.

However, a lot of this post seemed to come across like “see guys?! It IS a true sequel!” when the reality is, without the PvE, it’s really not a sequel and I wish they’d stop trying to cram that idea down our throats

I say this as someone who had zero interest in the PvE element, so to me, it really is still just the first Overwatch but with added elements, elements that could’ve been added without tacking a ‘2’ onto the title and treating us all like we werent aware of what was going on.

I’m usually not snarky when it comes to dev posts but this one rubbed me just slightly the wrong way for that reason.

Save yourself the time and effort. This post is mostly just corpo speak and more re-iterating of the devs personal stories that have already been explored (outside of the one quote below).

Without giving too much away, I can say that the future holds bold new directions—both visually and thematically. We’re exploring untapped corners of the Overwatch universe and experimenting with styles and storytelling that will surprise even our most dedicated fans.

I’m more concerned, than I am excited about changes to Overwatch visually. I pray this is not in reference to the new “art style” they’ve started using for the cinematics.

Sequel or not, they have added a lot of systems and content in the past 6-8 months. It’s still overwatch, regardless of calling it 2 or not for no reason. Just like csgo being cs2 while being the same game.

It’s going great. My first 3 games of the evening have been complete (and I mean COMPLETE) stomps and when I queued for the 4th it said Game Found, and I could hear “Vote for your map” and I could hear the voting, but I was still seeing the main menu. Had to alt-f4.

Your game is just the best team4.

The formula was fine…no need to embellish the game (perks are w/e but completely unnecessary - probably should’ve just left that type of stuff to its own game mode like stadium)…

just continue to add the things that make OW truly great - the heroes and maps - and stop limiting our ability to see them!!!

The WORST additions (subtractions really) to the game have been hero bans and map voting which only decrease the variety in the game and prevent people from playing what they want (unless they are the “popular” picks)…have some faith in your work and if people don’t like it well then they don’t actually enjoy the game….OR add that type of stuff to its own game mode as well

Hey Sombra rework, when???

Also drop the 2, just go back to Overwatch, and celebrate in May when you’re supposed to, imo.

trash game, the only reason there is a 2 was the pve story mode and you lied to us, 3 years of nothing but crap, not a single mention of the pve, dont you want to reflect on the game history? the last comic relased just confirms you killed the story

They need to hire up all the r34 artists because obviously they have 1000x the passion and grit to make better content for Overwatch fans.

it was not a joke, nsfw artist work more, they do their own 3d modesl from scratch and do long animations alone

Looking ahead, I am more excited than ever about what’s to come. Without giving too much away, I can say that the future holds bold new directions—both visually and thematically. Overwatch show/series confirmed.

yeah i dont think so, they dont care at all about overwatch, they are just making a game, not a franchise “We created a new strategy for the game, one that doubled down on the competitive PvP experience. We prioritized the competitive nature of the game and started marching in that direction”

But later they say

But my takeaway from that experience is that we held certain things too close. We are now more willing to take risks and more willing to give ourselves tougher challenges.

In other words, focusing on PvP only was the “safe route/choice”. Now they’re taking risks. What was a risk and tough challenge before? PvE and Overwatch series

they will add more stupid unnecessary features to pvp, thats what they call a risk, there was no need for bans

you are seeing current ow, only making skins and collabs, only updating stadium, main game, arcade, workshop, abandoned, why you think they can or want to make pve? did you read the last comic? they basically said the story is over, null sector bye
