I was really excited about perk and stadium
I thought it should be like this the first time I saw something like this in collaboration with Diablo, but
how weak the implementation is
in the arcades they seemed impactful and fun
“Alec Dawson: Perks are mainly about creating new things for your heroes to do…”
No, it can’t be like that, you shouldn’t create something new just to do the same thing just so the person has a new button to press or an improvement to something
gameplay loop, you have to create changes in the gameplay loop
What’s the point of the winton heal barrier to me if the gameplay loop is the same, this type of change SHOULD NOT BE A PERK but should be “HERO BALANCE”
in the vast majority of perks are just an improvement or quality of life,
it’s like “you do this? now you’ll keep doing it but better”
what’s the point of implementing a mechanic with the ability to change the game just to improve some things?
If I have problems in a match, let’s say passing the first point of Dorado, perks should have 2 options, one that already exists (in most heroes) that improves the current gameplay and another that (doesn’t exist) changes the way I’m going to play.
What’s the point of 4 options that are part of the same gameplay? Even the strong ones like Tracer or Souj, it’s the same gameplay loop only better.
Who are you trying to please with this? New players? Old players? New players won’t come because of this, you won’t convince anyone by saying “look now soldier 76 can reload the weapon when he runs” and much less old players for two reasons: one is that even if it’s impactful, if you keep the same gameplay loop, people will lose interest after a short time and the second reason is that most of these perks should already exist in the hero’s kit.
The only thing you tried to change in the gameplay (Sombra) was implemented to fulfill players’ fantasies? And not to mention that you held back, you could make so many changes with Sombra hacking allies (increased attack speed, movement, CD reduction, OH, …) and you decide to heal 100 health for 2 seconds?
But even so, she’s an example of what perks should be. 2 types of gameplay, assassin or support.
I really liked the idea, but the way it was implemented is weak, my hope is Stadium, but the problem is that I believe that Blizzard doesn’t have a middle ground
I think Perks was too little and I think Stadium will be too much, although for Stadium to be too much maybe is good, but Perks was a disappointment
