So we would “hack” a skin out of the pass to get one that we missed in the past? So we still have to deal with the FOMO? What does this solve? What does this reward? I pay money to suffer?
If you want ALL THE SKINS then sure…
But for most players there will be one that we don’t want anyway, so…
Problem that I’d like some skins from the past when I couldn’t play Overwatch so I didn’t got them. Now there is a way if I am a bit lucky and/or patient.
Which skins from previous battle passes would we be able to target? I’m still confused about this. Is it from all previous battle passes or is it just a select 12 skins that’s on a seasonal rotation?
you won’t have to work harder to complete your Battle Pass
I wont buy this comment. There’s no mention if challenges will have the same impact on BP progress. It seems we will have more skins than usual, pretty sus from my perspective. Will it be more grindy?
Wait, hold, on… I found it:
you’ll now get to choose 1 of 5 “tracks” (think of a track as a single, 8-10 tier “page” from our current Battle Pass) to immediately focus your efforts on
You earn Battle Pass XP as you do normally
50.000 exp for one reward? No improvements on how you earn XP? Challenges are already grindy for a casual player, even the last events are getting worse about it.
12 skins that Blizzard chooses each season.
And it looks like it will just be shop and lootbox skins.
Past Battlepass skins are in the “unvaulted” thingy.
I remember when Overwatch was so good you didnt need battlepasses and other daily chores to keep playing
This is like, cool and all, but like, it doesn’t address people who are still waiting for a zarya or other neglected heroes that we all have collected their skins already. I’ve been playing since 2016, duplicates, or alternative offers that I already own are really not great. Also, I’m tired of all the “god”, or “cyberpunk” skins, could we get some more lore or variety in skins? they don’t have to be all LED covered, something like even just a pair of jeans and a tank top for my gal Zarya would be great, or how about travelling or post mission wear, or like party or side hustle wear… just tired of the LED onslaught. Oh, and as always, please bring 2.2.2. role que comp main mode back, kkty
Appreciate your response! I’m still confused lol.
Say I missed out on every single Mauga skin that were in previous battle passes, would I be able to obtain those? Or do they have to hope they’re part of the 12 skins Blizzard chooses for us?
Yes. It looks like you can now buy a battle pass from the past (without currency and gems in it) and complete it to get it.
Those 12 to “hack” are from lootboxes and shop skins.
Oh, I didn’t see that we’d have to purchase the previous battlepass. I hope we’re able to do so with existing currency (and hopefully credits) instead of actual real-life currency. Thanks for the response friend.
It doesn’t make sense to me that people expect to be given things just for playing. The pass is already the side reward for people who want that. Playing the game and having fun is still the main reward. This shouldn’t be viewed as a problem by anyone who enjoys playing the game.
The 10 new heroes and year-long story arc is that.
I have a question about whats going to happen to the 3 epic skins we usally get from the BP, cause while I don’t care for most of them, I do like some e.g. summer festival winston and lantern Zen from the most recent BP
That is not specified in the news xD
No problemo (-;
Hopefully it will be a case of maybe throwing it in a box later on down the line or just making a seperate tier hack pool just for BP skins because I’m tempted to trade for Mob Boss JQ but like you said, you don’t wanna regret locking out the skin later on.
One thing I really like is that we can buy old battle passes again.
But if the mythic prisms are not in them them anymore, I hope there is some sort of good reward in place of them. Maybe some extra coins at the very least or perhaps 1 skin of choice once you have collected all the prism levels.
This season looks good with the map reworks and the new rank between Platinum and Diamond. I really enjoy playing Rein, so I can’t wait to try D.Mon.
And since this appears to be a transition season, I have high hopes for what we will see at BlizzCon.
But I won’t stop asking for two really important things:
- 2CP maps back in the main game
- Local play support
You can get those weapons in loot boxes.
So I know they went out of their way to assure everyone that this is an improvement to the battle pass, but I have a suspicion that we’re definitely getting a downgrade.
They did the same thing with Diablo 4 and their battle pass. Rearranged it so you could access what you wanted first, but ultimately cut down on the quality and quantity of rewards and currency.
Maybe this one will be different, but Blizzard has already set a bad precedent with these type of changes.
They didn’t say anything about quality in the article.
But quantity and currency is about to stay the same.
