Always make crossplay an optional thing for pc players too, thank you.
Do not force it on us.
They TOTALLY did not rush this out because of Mahvel. Definitely not.
As much as I don’t like doing conspiracy theories, yeah they totally were “planning this before OW2”… If it was it would’ve had the whole roster in it. They took the talents from the PvE mode and quickly slapped this thing together.
I like the concept of the mode - build around your counters.
But they have heroes like Cass who just flat-out outplay everything and two-tap regardless of build.
We need a summary, Aaron you need to earn this communities trust back first.
New heroes and content is a good thing.
What’s more important is the format and the systems in place. I’m glad they will add Bo5, unranked and crossplay. Hopefully starting from season 17 (not later).
The build saving feature is also important, and I hope it’s done well. I hope we can save multiple builds for each hero.
I also hope the new maps and the new payload mode will add variety to the gameplay loop because currently most maps feel the same in terms of geometry
That was a great read. It was nice hearing about the origin story of Stadium.
I hope the Stomp issue gets attention. Stomping in Stadium is a big problem in my experience. Ive already had several matches where our team lost 0-3 or 0-4. Finding a solution to snowballing would be most beneficial to the Stadium experience.
Thanks for continuing to make a great game ![]()
Really love Stadium so far, but needs to be 6v6 to make it perfect for me, it would better fit the wackiness of that mode
That would kill the mode immediately because suddenly 2/3 of the roster is waiting 10+ minutes for a game.
I think Stadium could have been OQ as well when they implemented tank, dps and supps builds for everyone. No q times and more build variety.
First off, I want to say that Stadium mode is a fantastic addition. The creativity allowed by the build system and the departure from traditional gameplay loops makes it a standout experience. It’s no surprise that it’s generating so much interest.
However, after spending some time with it, I have a few suggestions that I believe could improve the balance and sustainability of the mode. I’ve broken them down below:
1. Remove Role Passives
The build system already provides powerful and diverse customization options. Role passives on top of this feel unnecessary and often lead to balance issues, especially when stacked with synergistic items. Disabling role passives in this mode would reduce complexity and help with balance.
2. Transition from 5v5 to 6v6
Current 5v5 stats, especially for tanks, are too strong when combined with builds. This leads to situations where certain heroes become nearly unkillable, creating a frustrating experience. 6v6 stats would offer a more suitable baseline for the build system and allow for better team dynamics.
3. Alternatively, Redesign Hero Stats Specifically for Stadium Mode
If a switch to 6v6 isn’t being considered, then I recommend reworking hero stats exclusively for Stadium. These should be entirely separate from standard 5v5 or 6v6 values. For example, tanks that normally start with 600 HP could start with 450 HP in Stadium, and DPS heroes could have proportionally adjusted stats. A full pass on all roles would ensure balanced progression and survivability.
4. Save High Burst Heroes for the End of the Content Cycle
Adding high burst-damage characters early could disrupt the mode’s balance before it has had time to settle. For example, characters like Sojourn, when combined with builds, could potentially one-shot tanks. Heroes with this level of burst potential should be introduced at the end of the content cycle and only after thorough balancing.
Thanks again for the innovation and all the hard work you’re putting into the game!
they need to fix these support queue times
What does a draft mode mean in this situation?
New heroes will be added in their respective Midseason.
This got revealed in the AMA I think.
Ah yes, you don’t like it, so it has to be bad…
Where do you get your expert insider-knowledge about the development of Overwatch?
Yes Aaron! Split the player base even further, we need 273 different modes so everyone’s happy.
Queue times are already a big concern after just a few days live and this guy is thinking about splitting Stadium’s playerbase in two.
Stadium is so ridiculously unbalanced it’ll never be a competitive experience. Admit it was a mistake and treat Stadium as a fun casual mode, which it is.
Geoff Goodman talked about exactly this way back in 2021. It was clearly on their radar at the time. The community was also pretty loudly asking for exactly this (and more PVP content in general) at the time, too.
aaron you are a disgrace for the game, you failed to do ow2 and give us this scrapped pve assets arcade mode that sucks so much, is the antioverwatch, long matches, not fast paces, nothing dies, comlicated, you should be fired. you admited pve was cancelled before ow2 launch and instead wasted time doing this crap mode
It seems you have somehow avoided a Soldier homing Helix Rocket build, Reaper and Mei’s two shot build, and Cassidy instant delete build. Curious.
Just a huge skill issue on his part.
they totally did, only 17 characters, they were working on this crap before ow2 launch, when they knew pve was cancelled and keep lying about it, all the maps are recycled from main modes, there is barelly any new original content, talents are from pve. you are talking about the company that couldnt even make weapon inspect because was too much work
