I can’t emphasize this enough: DON’T SPLIT THE STADIUM QUEUES. Either bite the bullet and just add crossplay, or don’t. One of the best things about the mode is that it has this ranked system, because it’s not a ranking, it is a de facto progression system. Releasing a version of the mode without progression is just a bit nonsensical.

I would agree with the consensus on this. Stadium is competitive, but it kinda blurs the line between the unranked QuickPlay and the actual Competitive mode. I initially assumed that was intentional, since it had its own ranking system separate from Competitive queue, but it sounds like the team is wanting to do two separate queues, which may work, but I think is going to take away some portion of what makes Stadium a unique mode.
Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but as the console player, I get thrown into the PC pool when I play with my partner (who plays PC) when we play unranked. Wouldn’t that put me as the console player at a disadvantage since I’m playing with a controller versus people who primarily play keyboard and mouse? If so, and I’m the one choosing to play that way, I don’t see why Stadium couldn’t work the same since I’d be a console player in a pool that is advantageous against me, instead of being thrown into a pool where my partner would have an advantage over everyone else.
TL;DR Keep Stadium the way it is, add the ability of either PC or Console Pool, if a mix of both, the Console Player plays disadvantaged like QP

Would have preferred round of 3 for unranked. Overall excited.

Only way to fairly have crossplay is to have a casual mode, plus not everyone is a sweatlord.
As much as I may love Peakfist, it may be wise to keep him out of it. Stacking all of the ability damage buffs with his group punch will just lead to lore-accurate One Punch Man.

Quite possible. They could also add an uppercut item/power and have all the DPSfists migrating to the Stadium. It’s not like you can’t trick out any of the current five tanks to be killing machines, at the expense of survivability.
Me, personally, I saw that there was some speculation that Doomfist is going to be added in the first batch after Freja and that made me hopeful for my future with this mode. As is now, I’m growing ever more colder towards it as the days pass.

While true, none of the other tanks have the mobility that Doom or even Ball does.
They could certainly be interesting to play against. If you end up with no CC characters it’s probably gg from the beginning.
Me personally I’m just really waiting on how Mauga turns out. Stack up on life-steal and damage perks for an absolute monstrosity.
It isn’t a competitive mode though. They don’t need to have another mode just to pretend more that this one is competitive.

Well it looks like they’re adding a tank, DPS, and support every season, not including the new heroes added in midseason. Assuming they keep that up, after they add Sigma and Winston, how many tanks are missing? Ram, Mauga, Hog, Ball, Hazard, and Doom. At most it’s a 16 month wait, which isn’t great for you, but there’s a good chance it’ll be much less.
Meanwhile, I’m a DPS main whose main isn’t in stadium. It could take me 2 years before I can play my main.
I wonder if his kid expected him to nerf everything after a week.
It takes them 2 seasons (6 months) to implement endorsement? Cmon

I love playing stadium and having a reward is fantastic. I like being able to eaen rewards for it. Comp points. But i also know it cant just be as serious as comp. Some peoole take the silly stadium mode so serious.
cross play is a horrible idea. they have aim assist

Please give PC players a way to opt out of cross play in ALL unranked modes. We shouldn’t have to play ranked just to keep console players out of our teams.

Yeah, because it’s just the cancelled PvE mode Frankensteined into a PvP.

Honestly, no matter what you add, the biggest thing for me will always be that you can’t swap, not even between rounds. It’s like solo tanking in 5v5 role queue, only now I can’t even counter enemy team having my counters.
