2 bans per team surprised me, I thought it would only be 1 per team. In this case you can literally ban all the annoying heros without having to compromise. Bye bye widow, ana, mercy, and most importantly tracer.

  • No more than two Heroes in each role can be banned. If two Heroes in the same role have already been banned and a team’s next most voted Hero is in the same role, those votes are ignored and this team’s next most voted Hero in a different role is banned instead.

Limiting bans to 2 per role is dumb. I am playing a sniper happy map; if both teams want to ban Hanzo, Widow, and Sojourn, I think we should be able to. But with this, that won’t be possible. I think you should allow any combo of roles to be banned. So 4 tanks; OK, or 4 support; OK.

Please add this to all modes, not just competitive.

We absolutely do not want this in all modes. Quick Play and Arcade is meant to be a casual fun experience where you can play any hero. This should be Competitive only, Master+ only.

Youre welcome to your opinion, but mine is that there are a lot of heroes that equally ruin that casual fun experience. So I absolutely do want this in QP and arcade as well.

I am sorry, NighthAwk, you know I love you, but this is actually the worst post that I have ever seen. No!

It does not even make sense to be added to Stadium. There are 17 heroes. You want to ban a quarter of the roster? C’mon, bruh…

I actually like this style of ban layout, quick and efficient, actually well thought out (I hope I don’t regret saying this)

I have played enough modes in this game where my opinion is that nearly every single one would be massively improved with hero bans. It solves perceived and rank-dependent balance problems without blizzard needing to necessarilly go solve it across the entire stack for every game mode.

Do you play lots of total mayhem? Well, now you can make it so every game isn’t just filled with the S-tier stall heroes like winston, moira, and ball. No effort from blizzard needed to fix a balance problem that everyone in that modes hates dealing with, but blizzard will clearly never balance around.

CTF? No more dealing with a GOATS-esque tank comp with lucio speed boosting them every game.

Normal QP? No longer need to deal with frustrating heroes like Widow.

The OWC events would have been so much better if Doom was a bannable hero. Everyone I played with loved OWC but hated doom being in every game.

This also gives Blizzard a lot of valuable data on which heroes are problematic – either because they are too strong, or maybe just poorly designed.

I totally get what you are saying, but adding bans to Overwatch CLASSIC is just foul. :joy:

That’s fair. Despite how frustrating doom was in that mode, I would agree that we should leave it as it was for authenticity purposes. I cant say I’d be upset about it, though :slight_smile:

This seems to be a much better system than the cat based hero pool system that failed miserably years ago. Should make things interesting.
