My last 3 boxes have had stuff I already have. I thought they took out duplicates a long time ago. Did they bring them back?

Duplicates was never removed, the rate of them was reduced
On my main account I have all base game content, so I just gain a fortune in gold

Probably because you have most, if not all, of the white and blue cosmetics.
I’ve had duplicates for about 2 years now, so I’m currently rolling in gold. You’ll enjoy it once you get enough money to buy anything you want outright.

Will the unopened lootboxes and/or gold carry over to OW2? I’ve heard existing unlocks/guns will, but what about ‘banked currency’ ? Seems like they would be almost obligated to have it carry over, although they could hyperinflate/etc.
There arent an infinite number of items so eventually you have to get them.
As far as I know the pickrate of certain type of items (common/rare/epic/legendary) has stayed the same even though the rate of duplicates were reduced. I.e. does not mean that you’ll suddenly get epics/legendaries in every box once you have all the commons/rares, just that when you get an item of specific rarity it tries not to give you a duplicate if that’s possible. Therefore you’ll start getting a whole bunch of duplicates once you’ve unlocked all the more common items.
I get duplicates too, cause I have most items? I no longer even bother opening boxes lol
Once you’ve played the game for a while, you just get like "Oh. Look at that. I’m rich. *yaaaawn "
If you ever wanna cash in, you can leave something holding down your space bar while you go do other stuff.

I can imagine they would, but I’m not sure.
The way the loot system currently works is it will process what rarity of loot drops in the box and will give you random ones of that rarity that you don’t current have. Once you have all items of one rarity then you’ll start seeing duplicates. It doesn’t take long to get all tue white and blue rarity items.
Gold, probably. Unopened, probably. If the do carry over, they will only have stuff for the game at the time you earned it. Loot is determined when you earn them, not when opened.
Except in Xbox land where you have to hold A, then let go of A, then hold A again. 
Once you get all whites and blues, you start getting them.
I get so many duplicates, even though i still dont have some base things in 2 years of playing -.-
