Here’s how he’s played in OWL, and how I play him.
Reaper has higher shield break than Junkrat but less range. Your tanks can escort you to where you need to go.
Reaper can apply pressure that allows your tanks to go berserk, and when they have everyone’s agro, you can go for flanks (shadow step can also be used to escape and i love it).
Healers are good at supporting Reaper, like Moira and Baptiste. More healing is always better, and you want tanks to protect you from stuff like snipers.
Pfff, Reaper has never been an issue.
He’s also not dead, except where Hanzo is everywhere.
For most of the game’s history he was a solid F tier, then annoying as hell but also F tier. In the grand scheme of things it’s only recently that he was even viable, which makes sense- his skill expression is so limited.
I think Reaper is pretty comparable to Reinhardt.
I think he’s c tier.

kill the shields. and hit whoever you killed their shield
its pointless to flank at this point and its why dive is dead anyway. too much healing armor and instapop shields from multiple heroes.
just kill the shields and force them to back off. the way I play reaper is to get as much of my pallets on shields as possible. theres usually a reinhardt. I usually just sit a bit far away from him and waste his shield. its usually useful. and try to flank him but stay at a safe distance and get damage off
its unrealistic to flank anything in this game anymore.
they prob need to up the damage on reaper guns by 10 or reduce his readius.
The skill floor of tanks have been increased since the great barrier nerf.
The tank players that still play tanks are able to adapt and increase team fight engagements.
If you are getting destroyed by tanks as a reaper, then that tier isn’t for you yet.
It’s like watching a game of rock paper scissor and paper is killing your scissor.
Reaper is not as affected by the armor revert as people may think. Armor used to reduce each projectile by 3 damage or half of the total damage of the projectile if that figure is less. Now it reduces by 5 damage or half. What does this mean for Reaper? Each shot of the Hellfire shotguns has 20 pellets that do 7 damage each. This means that before the revert each pellet did 4 damage on armor, whereas now it does 3.5. That is a difference 10 damage per shotgun blast, assuming that every single pellet finds its target.
