Devs, are you doing something with Symmetra?

Somebody asked Jeff Kaplan about bringing the hero pool to experient cards before season 21.

Jeff Kaplan: "The card won’t be ready until end of Feb.

For now you can test it by not playing torb for the next week.

Next week, don’t play Symmetra.

So basically Symmetra is a joke of a hero and they know it, I think they want to keep her as niche and bad state as possible

Not likely, because Widowmaker and Hanzo have both remained extremely dominant picks.

Ive suggested many times to remove her turret and make her weapon deadly at her range like

  • 120/160/240 but make the beam thinner with 2 second to charge,remove her passive ability thru barrier too so her max damage doesn’t feel super cheap to achieve.

But somehow symm hater seems to gatekeep her as the niche character that she shouldn’t be viable or useful.

I tell you they are scared that if this iteration goes live they cant say “no skill” “frustrating to play against” argument against her anymore so they oppose this kind of changes.

No. Symmetra 2.0 was REWORKED.

Agree and from my perspective oneshots are bad for the game.
But they are good for OWL, twitch channels and youtube videos, this is why devs are more accomodating with heroes like them.

Anyways that’s just a theory/hypotesis and as such it can be wrong.

I don’t know about you, but I’m so sick about all this “takes no skill” fuss. I think that the topic is overtalked to say the least.

When i was ever comparing genji to sym gameplay wise? I was mentioning because ppl like to use pickrate as a way to know how good a hero is doing when that does not always mean they are good.

again, not disagreeing. tho it’s my bad because I thought “him” was referring to genji not mccree so it made me think you were saying “sym can spawn camp genji”. :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe they shouldn’t make a sorry excuse of a playable character. I mean she’s literally is crap at everything she does except being a taxi, which then she will be promptly be switched off of.

Shieldbuster? Too short of a beam and too low HP. Dps? Nope you get slow charging/traveling projectiles and a ramp up for a primary! Area control? Nope, have 3 measly turrets and nothing else. Torbjörn is better at area control with his turret and ultimate. You want to turretbomb? Nah let’s make teleporter infinite and give you a devastating cooldown, not to mention if her base kit was decent enough, you wouldn’t have to turret bomb in the first place. She’s too team dependant and has too much downtime to be a damage dealer.

The icing on the cake is the atomic bomb of nerfs she got recently. They’re not even going in the right direction…

Oh my lord. Symmetra doesn’t need buffs, when will people realize this? She has crazy damage (m1 does 180dps), crazy range (orbs), crazy slowdown (turrets), INSANE mobility (her OP teleporter), a stupidly huge barrier and her ridiculously small hitbox. I think she needs a rework which makes her skilled, instead of her current ‘free win’ status where she is so easy and strong that a new player can pick her and instantly win the game.

As usual, the delusional Sym mains will disagree.

Doesn’t work with Overwatch devs. I’ve seen near 4 years of polite and constructive criticism be ignored, or worse the poster suspended for making it.

Everyone else with her range restriction does upwards of 200 and does not require over 2 seconds of wind-up.

They’re too slow to work past, what, 20 meters?

In a very restricted area, emerging from very fragile objects with long cooldowns.

Isn’t it extremely slow to deploy with really excessive downtime?

Ultimate does ultimate things. Woohoo.

Considering she has bad range, bad damage, bad mobility and no survivability, being somewhat harder to hit is her only saving grace.

more like ~15m. at 20m range, targets have 0.8s to reactively dodge fired orbs. at 15m it’s 0.6s.
