Cool post but the downers are gonna come and whine about stuff.
The DEVs usually get around to doing the right things but they always do it too late.
They all come with caveats, in my opinion, and they are ignoring burning issues. Even ones I do not agree with.
People in high ranks do not seem sort into hero pools either. We shall see if they raise their voice loud enough to confirm such.
Cc is lowkey worse because they only targeted specific kinds and even reverted some of the changes. Lul.
Community interaction is good, no complaints there.
They removed them like 2 months too late and people actually genuinely wanted map pools, they just did not want them for an entire season. Why we never tested weekly is anyoneâs guess. Probably the same reason we never tested a different time frame for hero pools despite the claim that we would.
Removing them is pretty stupid and just appeals to the complainers. Rework them, sure. Reduce their appearance? Sure. Removing content from the game? Not cool, imo.
Mercy skin is nice.
Moira skill gap⌠we shall see. I ainât trust them.
Support roster. Rofl. Hopefully.
Barrier tank imbalance. I am actually even more skeptical about this than the support one.
What about dps? One side of the fence is crying about power creep and the other is pretending all dps are worthless. Kind of goes hand in hand with the Echo problem. No news on open queue either, despite that being the most relevant topic. OWL players dropping like flies, where dat response tho?
Like, they can live their life, but I do not feel they are listening just because they are developing the game. Yeah, SOMEBODY asked for literally anything either of us could construe. But if they want the majority of people to feel like they are ACTIVELY listening, we need a bit more. Or at least I do.
At least theyâre listening. The thing is, meta is really a huge thing in higher ranks. This keep diversity for them.
They nerfed quite a bit of CC.
I donât remember them buffing anyâŚ
Thatâs not the point. The point is that they listened and removed them.
Most people HATE those maps. Like the amount of complaints for them is insane.
If people arenât having fun on a map, itâll be removed. I think thatâs fair.
Once again proves theyâre listening
True, But theyâre still listening.
Still listening
Still listening to us
Completely agree, but what does this have to do with the devs? Iâm pretty sure theyre still discussing and deciding what to do, remember I made that post about tank/support role?
About OWL players, I think theyâre just bored of playing the same game 12hrs a day for 4 years. Thats gonna happen. Theyâre just trying something fresh. (the big v)
Also, they said they might be adding open q next to comp
I feel like in almost every example it proves theyâve been listening.
Theyâre listening to the proâs not us lol.
My point is, no matter what they change, they listened to somebody. I know you support role lock, what would you say if they removed it? You adamantly believe the majority of people prefer role lock, correct? So if one day they remove it, what then? Were they genuinely listening?
Except for most of what I listed, it was wanted/asked by the majority of the playerbase.
If you use your logic, then they never listened to anybody.
Exactly, so if the day comes when they remove role lock, what would your response be? Would you acknowledge they were listening to feedback? Obviously this is hypothetical because perhaps the reason we still have it is for the reason you stated, they listen to the majority. Just curious.
I acknowledge that they were listening in some capacity, you are correct. I personally feel maybe if they listened harder they could have more efficiently addressed feedback.
No because majority of the playerbase doesnât want role lock removed.
I did a survey with 480 responses (forums and reddit) and only 8% wanted role lock gone.
However, they need to take into consideration that 8%, hence why theyâre adding open q next to comp. They said theyâre adding that so theyâre listening to that portion of the playerbase.
They are listening to our feed back? We are about to suffer a 4th rework in the support roster. 4th in a line up that never had more than 7 heroes in it. If they actually listened to our feedback they would stop reworking LIKE THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD
They havenât reworked any Support since Mercy (or Symmetra, if that counts).
Brigitte received a power shift, and it sounds like Moira will receive the same.
Lucio also has never been reworked, but heâs also had power shifts in his kit.
Mercy, Sym, Brig and now Moira. 4th rework in the smallest roster. They promised no more reworks and they went back on that. I will not commend them for constantly doing this.
Did you just not read past this sentence in my post?
Reworks either change the function of an ability, or completely replace an ability.
Brigitteâs kit functioned the same after her ârework,â and she was given no additional abilities.
Symmetra was never truly a Support, hence why sheâs now a DPS.
Mercy is the only support to have been reworked.
Good lord. What do you think happened with repair packs.
It doesnât at all. Thatâs like saying there was no hanzo rework because they shifted his power. They didnât a completely different E, changed projectile speed. That is what Brig got, it was a rework.
She was and she got reworked TWICE
They removed scatter arrow and gave him storm arrowâŚso thatâs a rework.
To be honest, I have never felt that way. If you really go back and look at things, they typically almost always have listened to us, but then we for some reason act like they donât. Yes, sometimes things are very slow, but game development is harder than a lot of people here think it is. There is more that goes into literally any change than simply âturning a knobâ.
It is good to see feedback being taken in board. Iâm very happy about the map pool and hero pool changes.
But I disagree there was anything wrong with Horizon. Paris yes but HLC was already fixed.
My issue with the devs is that they are too afraid to completely rework some of the charqcters that need help.
Pharah and Mercy are both in a bad place. It took the devs banning two main healers just to make Mercy viable and banning 5 hitscans just to make Pharah viable. That should ket you know that there is a big problem.
What makes things harder is that you canât just mindlessly buff these characters. Pharmercy dominates console and low ranks while getting completely destroyed by high end widows and mecree.
What would a possible solution be? Reworking the characters. Donât be afraid to go crazy with the reworks. That is what the experimental mode is for.
Well we have a support patch coming soon, so hopefully theyâll be looking at Mercy.
If Pharmercy is a worry, they can reduce the synergy by increasing Mercyâs healing output but reducing the power of her damage boost.
This reduces the power of Pharahâs damage boosted rockets, making the comp less oppressive. An extra 10 healing per second doesnât make Pharah any harder to kill for McCree.
