You don’t know how DF works right?
And yet DF is easily countered by Sombra, McCree, etc. This is a bunch of complaining by people who refuse to switch.
better nerf irelia…
Doomfist the character itself is super toxic i hate it so much
Doomfist is annoying but he’s not overpowered. Not everyone can pickup and play Doomfist, he has a pretty high skill ceiling.
Also if you hate him so much you can always make friends or become a Sombra main.
Not sure what kind of boosting you’re talking about but I bet it was neither.
Perhaps you just don’t need to practice Doomfist for hundreds of hours to get value out of him.

They spent 22 hours total that season playing competitive- 4 of that was spent on doomfist. Thats 18 hours off doomfist.
They had 9 hours total spent on tank-based heroes alone
They spent a grand total of 6 hours in competitive across seasons 10 and 11. They spend nearly 40 hours over the next two seasons (with 11 being on doomfist, about 1/4 their time)
Im not so sure id be blaming doomfist for this individual climbing to gold
Yea, lets just delete every hero you can’t play against, instead of learning how to counter him.
A good tip to learning how to counter heroes is playing said hero. You will understand how he works, what his weaknesses are and how he can engage. This will allow you to position and kill him more easily should you go head to head with him
That’s a pretty impressive analysis, mate.
Unfortunately, you ruined everything with your last sentence (I understand why you included it, though), because the climb to gold happened during the previous season. The one where Doomfist was by far the most played character.
Asking for deleting doomfist after nerfing sombra.
Nice one, but no actually.
kid like you should be burning in hell
I mean punched by doomfist
The jump from bronze to gold happened during the time where Doomfist had 20 meter slam, 3 seconds movement lock on uppercut and Meteor Strike was a guarunteed kill on Zen and Ana who were the 2 most used supports at the time. I would be interested to see what rank they are currently at to see how they performed with the nerfed Doomfist.
And how much time occurred out of competitive?
Was this a relatively new player who played a few hours of competitive then put a lot of hours into QP then tried again in competitive?
Also- Why are you ignoring that the season “in which they climbed” still had over half their time off Doomfist? Was he a factor? Sure. But they spent more time off than on Doomfist
But again, we don’t know what the complete story was. You’re assuming they played DF for a few hours and miraculously climbed. But we don’t know how much they played outside, and its still dubious to ignore that most of their time was spent off Doomfist.
Bro, forget it.
Even the guy who claims Doomie was OP needed a personal group to climb and won’t admit to it.
So arguing about something like that is pointless.
Once the 222 dust settles, we’ll get some balance changes.
This thread can’t receive enough love.
There’s two kinds of boosting, one is teaming up with some people who are higher rank than you, but are on accounts with the same rank as you, and then having them carry you to a higher rank. The other is giving someone your account and having them play it and them getting you a higher rank by doing that.
Maybe not for some people, but for most of us who play Doomfist you still need a significant amount of time on him to get value out of.
From the looks of it, if they were boosted, it would have been the second Form I was talking about.
I dont want to let this post die.
Not delete him, but nerf him for the love of god.
Overwatch is plagued by two issues right now:
-
Too many heroes with high burst damage. Snipers like Widow are good for the game because they have a difficult but very rewarding play style, and they force teams to play with positional awareness and not just mechanical skill. However, when a large portion of a roster is able to inflict between 75-100% hero damage instantly, teamfights turn into a game of who’s going to get the first lucky pick, and it doesn’t give players a chance to react or outplay the enemy.
-
Way, way, waaaaaayyyyy too much CC. With a game that requires so much positional awareness, having someone with the ability to displace can provide a unique twist to the game. However, too much displacement makes strategy impossible and just turns the game into a frustrating mess. Players enjoy a challenge, but they don’t enjoy not having control of their character.
Both of these issues are positive in small quantities, and negative in high doses. Doomfist is an overdose of both of these things. He has two methods of instantly deleting people (Rocket Punch and his combo), and every ability he has massively displaces all players they hit.
He’s just not healthy for the game. I have fun playing him as DPS, but as any other role he’s just not enjoyable to play against. Combining burst damage with displacement is a recipe for frustration, and makes playing as a team in a team game incredibly difficult. Even beating him doesn’t feel good; it just feels like a chore that you’ll just have to do again in 30 seconds.
I don’t really want to hop in on the ease-of-use argument, though as a Doomfist player myself I will attest that I’ve deleted many players with Rocket Punch that I had no business hitting. So I completely agree that Blizzard needs to figure out his hit registration because it’s way too big for the amount of damage it does.
Also, the fact that he can punch himself through a Whole Hog is, while highly entertaining as the Doomfist, incredibly stupid in concept. That’s just poor design.
Doomfist IS FINE. He’s very counter-able, and he’s hard to play.
Not sure if you’ve ever played him, but as a Doomfist player myself, I can assure you that he is not that difficult to play. All you have to do is pick a good target, time the initiation right, and there’s literally nothing the other player can do except start counting down the spawn timer.
As for counters, I’ve only consistently been countered by one hero: McCree. Even then, if I just connect with one of my abilities, that will displace him enough to prevent full damage from a Fan the Hammer, so I can escape fairly easily.
Beating a Doomfist is dependent on the Doomfist player making a mistake. If I execute my combos perfectly and pick the right target, I rarely ever die, even if the other person plays perfectly as well. In a 1v1, a perfect Doomfist play will beat a perfect play by any other hero.
When winning a fight depends more on the enemy making a mistake than your own performance, that’s unbalanced almost by definition.
#DELETEDOOMFIST
this hero is so ridiculous
