Playing tank will be so stressful now. And you will get screeched at all game every game for not playing Rein.

Listen to what they’re saying about tanks.

I mean, they are probably gonna give Tanks like

  • 100% stun immunity
  • 50% knockback resistance
  • 50% headshot resistance
  • 66% Ult charge feeding resistance

For this to be remotely viable all tanks need to have a minimum of 600hp which then introduces the need for sweeping balance adjustments across the entire roster which we already know this team isn’t very good at. Honestly this killed any motivation I had to play PvP in OW2.

so now for no reason we are nothing like any other characters. if it’s true we’ll just decide the outcome through our picks even more than we already do

This goes back to the philosophy of adapting to what the players are doing instead of forcing them to play a certain way. It doesn’t matter what you do. Tanks could be as OP as they were for Double Barrier and you could have twice as many in the game. DPS would still be more popular. It’s the most popular by far in every single game that features the trinity.

looking forward to the devs taking 3 years to rebalance tanks once ow2 drops

LOL I kept telling everyone they were willing to sacrifice half the tank players to “fix” queue times for obstinate DPS players… :man_shrugging:

When they did the test of 1 tank on the XpC half the tank players polled loved it being “the Man” and the other side hated it. Thus with 20% of the players doing tank, you can lose half if you save all the kids on DPS.

What we saw on stream, they did not give the tanks any stat buffs. They just walked up to the tanks and they fell over. So I would not hold my breath for buffs.

I mean the benefit of 5v5 is the can just spam buffs into Tanks as much as they need, without worrying about stacking.

1 tank is madness, how to play Zarya or Dva or Hog to be viable?

This change is so sad for me.
I don’t like it already

It’s a good thing.

Tanks can finally be POWERFUL beasts on their own without having to worry about op combinations like double shield.

If a tank is underperforming they can straight buff him because they don’t have to worry about some synergies being to strong.

I like this.

Isn’t that why they decided to slow down/stop on overwatch’s development and make overwatch 2 ? They give up so quickly. This game had a lot of potential, now they’re killing it because of laziness/cluelessness/lack of ambition

Feels sad man.

They can’t make tanks more appealing when there’s two of them on the team. They just take over.

One giga-tank that gets the attention of both healers will feel like a raid boss. They’re buffing all the tanks so they can adequately fill the role solo.

Would be nice, but it sounds a bit optimistic from what they are saying and showing.

So far Winston, Rein, and Zarya look more interesting.

I think their designs are pretty fluid at this point.

For instance, Rein barrier was 800 at BlizzCon, and it’s 1200 on Stream.
