I thought Soy was just another way of saying triggered?
Allow me to break it down:
When someone attempts to insult a male by implying that they’re “feminine”, they imply that being “feminine” is in some way inferior to being “masculine”
you’ve never read the book have you?
Why ban a account that got reported for toxicity though. Why not silence them. If their mistakes have been in communication why ban them from playing the game their gameplay wasn’t the problem, their communication was. Just silence them so they can’t communicate. Accounts get perma banned for using incorrect communications. Just block them from communicating.
because threatening to sexually assault someone while also killing their mother requires a different punishment when compared to just being a normal toxic person. so there is a gradient in punishment depending on the act. with permabanning being the most severe punishment. if that wasn’t the case there would be no reason not to go all in once you have started. the same reason that robbery has a different punishment from assault which is also different from assault with a deadly weapon. back when normal stealing had a similar punishment to killing a bunch of people, there was no reason not to just kill them to reduce the chances of getting caught.
In the end it goes back to that concept of rational actors making risk-reward decisions even when doing bad things
I still maintain that all of this Forced Chat stuff is just kicking the can. Back when games had dedicated servers, there was a real response to people coming in and dropping epic gamer words or cheating–just ping a badmin and watch the problem go away in seconds.
Matchmaking makes people far more toxic, because they have no reason to be nice to people they’re only going to see for 10 minutes. No amount of LPQ or forced chat filtering or silences/mutes will deter them, they have absolutely no social obligation to someone who is in a lobby with them about as long as they’d be standing next to them in queue at the store.
I understand that threats etc require more severe punishment.
However when you get silenced a couple of times for calling someone a ahole and you said nothing more then that because they repeatedly flame you for no reason or throw your games you still get banned.
Even though you got banned for ultimately saying a word that gets completely censored a couple of times.
In that instance getting banned does not correspond with the severity of the actions the player got banned for.
My other account recently got banned for a month for saying wtf killed me or wtf how did I get booped by that or pinned or whatever while I was not even close.
I literally said nothing more severe then wtf and none of it was directed at a player nor meant as a insult or whatever towards a player.
I got banned for a month for saying wtf 10 times orso while never saying stuff like wtf why did you not heal me or whatever.
Everything was directed at how i got killed because i was literally confused how i got killed by stuff that was completely unclear as to how it hit me.
Somehow, I feel like something is missing from this story. People weaponize the report system a lot, but escalating from a mute to a ban takes quite a bit more than saying “wtf 10 times”. Never forget that Lord Jeff dunked on someone who said they got banned for “no reason”, when the aforementioned innocent angel had racked up an average of 41 reports per day for a year.
Read the below, i got unbanned 20 hours before i got banned again.
I got banned for 2 weeks telling a 5 stack of aimbotters they were another level of sht to lose while all 5 of them aimbotted. They always hit center mass followed by a headshot sometimes.
So i just played ball and killed their ashe and supports repeatedly while our phara fired at them from narnia.
I didn’t even get a notification that they got banned.
Still think it was worth it to tell them that though.
Just felt unfair that I got banned for 2 weeks while 5 players where clearly aimbotting and getting away with it.
They also said some heinous stuff and everyone reported them and still didn’t get a message of account actions taken.
Also i never got a mute before that.
the account action taken message was broken which is why you didn’t get one. at the same time you just admitted you said more than you initially said you did. and abusive chat does not justify abusive chat
I said more when i got banned for 2 weeks.
Not when i got banned for a month.
The 2 weeks 1 was admittedly toxic/disruptive.
The 1 month ban was not.
i am pretty sure the fact that you were punished before would explain why you were punished more harshly later. because you are a repeat offender
How is typing wtf 10x in total a offence? Like what?
If i typed wtf nice shot 10x and get reported that will justify getting banned for a month?
For typing something that gets censored?
If someone reports you for typing wtf and nothing else negative they need to get off the Internet and live in a hut in a forest im sorry.
I’m sure it’s something to do with AI detecting the overall sentiment of what you’re saying over a prolonged period of time, until the AI basically considers your interactions mostly negative - reducing its threshold to consider a relatively harmless statement as trolling or griefing.
Considering the nature of AI, as it learns how you talk and for what purposes, just typing basic things like “lol” or “gg” or “lmao” with negative context might be enough to warrant a suspension.
People don’t understand the technology being used, so it’s at a point where there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Hi, I need some confirmation of context. " Along the same lines of inappropriate naming, utilizing user-generated content features like Custom Games to advertise services violates our in-game Code of Conduct." Does this include building communities via including a discord within your custom game’s description? Also, what if I were to link my twitch stream in the game or in the description. Is this against the Code of Conduct? (I’ve seen this a lot) I visited the link within the quote and it doesn’t mention anything even close to the statement within the quote.
Hey blizz thanks for silencing my alt account, for bogus reports. Really makes me want to play your game like sticking a needle in my eye. It’s no wonder this game is going down hill fast.
I seriously hope that isn’t the case! I’ve created games and I never like to advertise things, but I do include my discord in my credits earmark.
If it’s the case that we’re not allowed to give credit to others or ourselves in the games we spend weeks/months/years creating… I don’t think I can possibly support this game’s creative mode anymore. It’s too heavily censored.
Good job blizzard! punishing a bad actor on their smurf account! love it!
Let’s be clear, telling people their reports led to successful action simply encourages people to abuse the system. Players can get mad that they lost and then report a team for griefing and your brilliant moderation team will both suspend someone’s account and tell the reporter that you’ve done so. It does nothing to benefit people who are legitimately reporting and only incentivizes people maliciously reporting other players.
we are not kids blzzard, we will not cry because someone said to us “tank diff” on chat, delete the report system for chat, you are offended by someone saying things to you? disable the chat and thats it, focus on the cheaters, leavers and throwers, they are the people who ruin the game, if you let the chat free i bet will be less toxic
