Dead people’s opinion about their resurrection don’t matter.
They shouldn’t have been killed in the first place and deserves more suffering for their lack of surviving.
Hence, the well deserved resurrection in order to be humiliated again is mandatory. Obviously.

Other players should not be in control of your abilities. I can almost guarantee that 90% of those 1v5 rezzes are done accidently, especially if you happen to be on Console. Angelic Descent is bound to the same binding as Resurrect, so you’ll be trying to glide out of combat, will fall over a soul and now get locked into an animation for 3-5 business days and either get humiliated by the enemy team and killed, or you actually get off the rez and have now fed the enemy more ult charge.
So just give Mercy the ability to cancel a rez, with a cooldown refund of, say, 50%, putting it on a 15 second cooldown. Still plenty of downtime, but not enough to abuse or troll people with it.
Every misused ability has an effect on your whole team.
Reinhardt players charge suiciding affects the whole team negatively. A DPS killing themselves will just doom their team to a 4v5 lost fight.
Rez is no different other than the effect on another player being more visually obvious and immediate.
If you want a decline Rez option, there should be a veto vote for every ability in the game. No double standards.
Sym’s Team TP is already this and its awful.

Sym TP is one of the strongest abilities in the game, which is why she’s picked so often in OWL. What are you even talking about?
If mercy’s are texting into 1v5 you’re at a rank where there’s a 100 different things you need to do better to climb.
Once you solve this and climb mercy will stop this kind of rez

I know, the concept of ‘‘DPS players should give a rat’s butt about their team’’ has been anathema to the deathmatch that the loud players want, but make an effort.
Its worthless in 99% of the game because its power is locked behind hyper coordinated teams. As you said, its broken in OWL and nowhere else.
And the biggest reason for this is that its basically an ability subjected to a veto vote from the whole team. If the whole team doesnt willingly take it, Sym is worthless as a DPS.
Team TP’s full impact will always be outside of the agency of the Symmetra player themselves.

Personally, (and its the sentiment I usually see from Mercy spaces) I think that part of her fantasy has been dead and buried for years after all the post rework nerfs. She’s be better off getting a new and true E-ability over being stuck with a crappy feeling strangled ultimate on there.
Solo rez on ultimate would definitely be the easier path and what I’d do ideally, but I don’t think the rez concept itself has untouchable status anymore.
Back in ow1 i had around 100 hours on mercy when i was on console and i NEVER had that problem, i dont know how people can mess it up and accidentally revive someone, 90%of 1v5 rezes can’t be accidental. At least for me rez had it’s own binding not tied to any other ability.
Okay, nobody should be in control of your ability, but a dumb rez directly controls the other player who is now unable to swap heroes or forced to die twice. Other abilities even lw’s grip are fine in my opinion

Maybe its just me as I play tank a whole lot, but I do enjot a rez when it comes off. Probably because I play a lot of dive tanks so my survival rate is much higher thanks to mobility.
Assuming they are even in voice, rare thing these days.
The OPs statement is two separate issues. If you revive, then die nothing has occurred beyond a 10sec delay back into the next fight. You’ll have the opportunity to swap immediately upon respawn.
If you get revived, then don’t die. The resurrection was completed successfully and you weren’t revived into a 1v5.
Just use the “no” voiceline right after dying. I’m sure several mercys respect that, but you have to use the line immediately after death.
By the time mercy has already ga’d towards you, it’s too late. You’re part of the flight plan now.
Spamming “no” when the ability is already active is just too late.
The real solution is to have “press xyz” to accept.
Why half? Why not put it on a 5s cooldown just to prevent spam, but not punish the Mercy player
The only time it annoys me is when I’m trying to swap because what I’m playing is countered or having no impact. But how was the mercy to know that since I have voice comms off most of the time, so I can’t be too mad about it.
Id say this is very rare because usually what happens is the Mercy tries to Rez the teammate within the enemy area and she dies before she Rez’s her teammate. Ive been in a few situations where I was Rez’d to a waiting enemy team. I like the rush to be honest. Can I get away in time? With Mercy heal me as I fight for my life? Lets find out
