I think when the game was added to the arcade, the Devs never considered making any changes to the system to account for the realities of playing the mode itself. Which was fine two years ago, but now that it has been two years and the problems are clear hopefully they’ll deal with it.

How about flat out giving 30min bans to people who always leave matches like this? If you leave 3 or more matches within 3 hours then you get a 30min ban. You must play a total of 10 full matches to remove the penalty.

Honestly, remove the threshold entirely. Leaving deathmatch should never cancel it.
Don’t rob people of their wins.
Also I hope the leaver penalties are harsh. Like super harsh.

Why not just make it so that people are awarded the loot box for finishing a match instead of having to win? It seems after 15-20 tries in arcade that it’s always people losing who are leaving… And also don’t end the match at all, even if there’s only 2 people remaining, maybe we want to play it out if we’re still there.

While you’re at it, ban ultimate from deathmatch.
The is the only solution. People will stop leaving when the game itself is fun to play.
You should allow back fill, because it is really annoying people leaving and the game just shutting down.
The game shuts down because of backfill, if the game doesn’t search for new players, sees the condition is not met and then closes the game then it’s fixed. It just needs to be an 8 man instance where people can leave, can’t join and doesn’t end on account of any players leaving.

It’s a pvp game, contrary to what others say for a high percentage of humans their definition of fun is merely “winning”.
Leavers will always exist no matter how fun this game is. AKA, Human nature.
People leave because they fall too far behind on the scoreboard vs better players and feel as if they’re wasting their time by continuing to play if they can’t finish top 4, it has nothing to do with any other factor that I’m aware of.
