Dear Jeff, this is it. Im tired of it. I give up

I think they will move on from loot boxes because of different law regulations in various countries (some see it as a form of gambling, others dont), but thats only my assumption

Ah. Right. Well, they could just not offer them for money anymore. It still makes sense to earn them while playing.

I absolutely disagree with this stupid law because its just another form of paternalism. If it is labeled properly I as a grown man should be allowed to decide for myself if I wanna buy crap or not but that’s a different topic of course.

While they could make them free and you have to earn them thru playing, question is how they make some sort of profit thru in-game transaction.
It could be some sort of battle pass as another person already suggested in this thread or something similar, hopefully we’ll find out soon when more info about OW 2 becomes available.

I would agree that you should be able to decide what you want to buy and what you dont, but it seems that said law is more in place to protect younger population that doesnt seem too aware of their actions and consequences and their parents wallets.

Yes, I know the argument, but it is invalid. If you consistently follow that through, you would generally have to ban anything that poses a danger to kids or their surroundings due to usage by kids. It is impossible to make the world child safe, that’s what parenting is for.

They could offer skins cosmetics directly. Haven’t checked it in a while I thought that’s already possible. I always felt like the amount of lootboxes you can get by playing nominally is too much, but of course I don’t know their statistics and projections.

You know, I got a small strip made of iron in my room.
I just place it on the spacebar and nab a coffee in the meantime.

The problem with controller is that you need to stop holding the button and press it back again

Idk if you can make something with keybinds, but the only way would be to open up the controller and connect it to an Arduino or something

tape down space glhf

Get a dipping bird like Homer had on the Simpons.

He wants you to enjoy all those “oh look 4 dupes” moments.

Would that be OCD?

How can they exploit people’s gambling addictions looking for the thrill of what will be in the next box if you can open them all at once?

At most, someone might earn around 8 lootboxes by the end of an OW session. Is opening 8 lootboxes really that physically taxing for you?

I keep seeing this request brought up and I have no idea why. I have around 1200 unopened lootboxes right now. I knew exactly what I was doing when I wasn’t opening them and you were too.

I dunno man, I think it’s bad design to put a paperweight on a button and then not play the game for a period of time. There’s no good reason to not have a convenient “open all” button from day one.

The design of the lootboxes is made to be opened 1 by 1 or in small amounts. If you as a player, go against the design, then its on you mate.

Its like complaining that Reinhardt is not very suitable for flanking and asking the Devs to code an option or a “secondary fire” to his hammer so he can be a projectile hero : It makes no sense :man_shrugging:

Why should everyone have to patch the game because … 100 ? maybe 300 ? Players cant one day just go afk 10mins and do that? Sounds like laziness to me but ok.

No, it’s not like that at all. It’s more like they made opening lootboxes sluggish for no real reason, and I’m not sure why you’re defending it.

That would remove the ritual of opening the boxes. The ritual is crucial in delivering the dopamine shot that makes the process addictive. There’s a reason why no system like this allows you to open all boxes/card packs ect. at once.

Tidy desk tidy mind, comes to mind.

First off, you should drop the “attacking/defending” here because none of that is happening, ok?
Second, I am not defending anything, I am telling you how it is. Merely just depicting reality in an accurate way. Thats it.

Literally all lootboxes from all the games Ive seen and opened them in (which are quite A LOT to be honest) are like that. So no, its not for “no real reason” and yes, complaining about not having a “Open all” function is complaining the sky is blue :
Its not going to change.

Again - telling it like it is :man_shrugging:

Yes, you’re defending a poor UI choice. You’re saying that the fault is on the player, not the design.

An option to speed up the process really isn’t much to ask for.
