Cyberpunk skins were all supposed to be in the BP originally

The battlepass would actually look decent if all those skins were in it but currently it looks all over the place. Sad too, the best Sojourn skin is locked behind the shop and I have no desire to drop $20 on that skin. Not only that but the battlepass even while unfocused is always gonna be a better option than buying skins due to you getting 80+ cosmetics at half the price of 1 Legendary skin in the shop. The pricing just doesn’t hold up in the least for items in the shop.

It’s pretty scummy honestly. There is next to no cyberpunk in this allegedly cyberpunk themed pass. Junker Queen spray painted new patterns on her clothes. Mccree and Winston are just, I don’t even know. Sojourn is taking a vacation and Bangalore is substituting her. And even the Hinotori skin, while looking absolutely fantastic in my opinion, doesn’t exactly give off a cyberpunk feel. I mean, it’s certainly cyber. In fact, a lot of these skins miss the punk mark. It’s too polished and clean and lacking hard edges a lot of this stuff. I’m not a big fan of cyberpunk myself, but I’m fairly certain calling most of these skins cyberpunk is a stretch. Especially that Zenyatta skin where they just put him in red pants and surgically grafted a VR headset onto his face.

Oh and don’t forget all of the alleged cyberpunk skins were presented together in said trailer. As if they belong together. Hmmmmmmmm. I genuinely hope people in general are not falling prey to this scummy greedy system with shop skins. Maybe they wouldn’t bother me so much in spite of their price tags if the rest of the hero gallery stuff was still regularly earned from game time like before the shop update.

Blizzard does this a lot. I think the money people have the final say on stuff instead of the devs.

Like in WoW a while back they added a Blood elf and Dark Iron questline that awarded a mount and some transmog for each. The Dark Iron got a brand new model of hound, while the Blood Elves got a recolored Hawkstrider------AND THEN----shortly afterwards, Blizzard added a Mana Wyrm flying mount with a Blood Elf colored saddle. Obviously was made for the aforementioned quest then ripped out of it and sold to us.

I severely doubt it. Each season having a theme doesn’t mean it’s all going to be in the BP. What could they possibly put in the item shop worth buying if it was all in the BP?

Yep, until you have some kind of proof other than connect the dots I won’t. Could just as easily spin the whole season as being “cyber punk” themed. And honestly It makes more sense to not put all of your cyberpunk skins in the BP. Putting some of them in the store means people have to spend more if they want to get all of that theme.

I’m happy they didn’t because I really hate those skins and like the ones in the BP well enough. Aside from Genji’s but either way I don’t play him.

…The stuff that’s currently in the battlepass that doesn’t fit which is like 80% of the current skins in it.

I’m a massive fan of Cyberpunk and Synthwave, If the first battlepass was themed after one or the other or a mix of both I would’ve partially forgiven blizzard for not including premium currency in the pass

But of course, that wouldn’t make them enough money

Skins not designed for the battle pass. That’s what they could put in there. Skins not around the current theme. And don’t even attempt to make the excuse that they can’t afford to do that now. With high way robbery skin prices there is zero good excuse for being lazy. Not only have they cut up the battle pass for a quick buck, but they’re not even presenting us with like, anything right now. If the Halloween event just gives us the same amount of shop skins we have now, we’ll still have one of the most barren stores ever. Ironic it being both barren and overpriced.

They never said the battle pass was cyberpunk themed. They actually said the opposite:

“With this new seasonal model, Loot Boxes are going away in Overwatch 2, and our new in-game shop will allow you to purchase exactly what you want with our new virtual currency, Overwatch Coins– what you see is exactly what you’re going to get. The shop will offer featured cosmetic items every week for all players, and in Season One, many of these cosmetics will follow a cyberpunk theme. Future seasons will have different themes for our cosmetics.”

I am 100% certain that the 3 epics and the Pahrah and Mercy skin where supposed to be in the shop and we would got the cyber skins in the pass. Because all the skins look more like independent shop skins than something that is worth a theme.

Maybe the reason for this was the price or the F2P rewards that made them change it. Maybe the pass was 20-30 bucks at this point with all the skins and the F2P players would just not get any skins, so they decided to cut the skins out, replace them with epics, removed other skins and pushed the price down to 10 bucks.

And if we are honest, 10 bucks is a pretty good price for the stuff you get if you compare it to the shop.

Still, it’s very disappointing and hope for something better in S2.

Absolutely not.
The other legendary skins are there to add more value to other heroes and make the BP appeal to other players.

There’s no conspiracy, the season shop is cyberpunk themed, just like they said it would be. But ofc they would not put 12-15 skins on the BP when they can charge more than 15 bucks for their bundles on the shop.

Lets not pretend that most BP out there offer that insane amount of “legendary” or equivalent skins out there. Nothing happened mate. It was like that from the start. Nothing weird, pretty straight forward :man_shrugging:

Don’t people just love how almost every developer now just wants to squeeze money out of their devout fans.

lol imagine the subs they’d have gotten for the PBP

yea… they want your money… all the streamers and youtubers agree and say “we mooched off them,” so everything with a price tag on it is so justified and its a very fair price… you guys are just being so unreasonable and just cough up your credit card information already and just buy the skins.

you guys do have credit cards right?

I was disappointed that the other Cyberpunk skins were not in the BP. Lost interest in getting them after seeing the prices.
They could’ve at least add some coins/credits in the BP, like Fortnite does with some of the v-bucks in their BP too.

It’s painfully obvious tbh, it literally fits a theme.

I wanted the Dva, Kiriko, and Mercy skins. I got my value for $10
