I still connect to bahrain even though I live in northern europe. Amsterdam and paris servers are both closer than bahrain.

If this is really getting to you that badly, maybe consider taking the day off to catch some zen? Clear your thoughts?
I’m Germany and I’m not into this flavour. Bahrain has over 80-90ms from where I am vs the 40-60 in the others.
My ping goes from 40-50 on amsterdam and 50-60 on paris to 200+ on bahrain, lol.
English is not the common language on EU server plays so now a lot of people who went to NA for English and better team work are now being punished. That is not good.
Yes I play on PS4 with voice chat off (Ps4 has no text chat) so I never have to deal with language barriers, but this change will be horrible for so many people who do use voice/text chat.

So why did I just have a tank on my team with insanely high ping? If it does take ping into account?

Oh… right, community hosted servers allows you to choose that…
Then again, it depends on the host servers not completely being borked or overloaded with features that causes the server to bork.
OH well 
I don’t even like the ping I get connecting to west coast servers from Tennessee. I can’t imagine being forced to play on Asian servers with people who also speak another language. I understand the rationale, but this isn’t a good solution to queue times.

How about you give PC players the option to opt out of cross play all together, and allow PC players to use the traditional “select region” from bnet? Because I absolutely hate this entire change, and I’m an NA player. The person I duo with is EU. Neither of us want a 50/50 chance of getting shafted on what server we get placed in (and thus, the quality of the match). Like really. I get why this looks nice on paper, but in practice it’s only upsetting the majority of players it seems.

This update is stupid I just want to play overwatch on playstation and not have to read messages from random people also why cant our console names be our only name or at least give us the option to pick which to use.
Blizzard is really going downhill
It’s not even a queue time thing. It’s not even an Overwatch thing.
This affects all blizzard games.
We’re just collateral damage.

It doesn’t feel like the game actually tries to put groups into servers where all members will have a stable ping. I duo with my friend who is west coast and I’m east coast and it ALWAYS puts us on LA servers where I have 100ms instead of the Chicago servers where we’d both have 50ms.

I’m from the UK and I’ve been playing on NA since the beginning. Mostly for quality of the matches, voice comms and time as I usually play very late at night.
Out of all the things, this is probably the dumbest change you’ve ever made.
Now on top of all things I’m being put on middle east servers with 160-170 ping?! WTH!
I was usually getting 96-103 ping while playing on NA which was more than fine, especially after midnight when queues on EU are insane. Let people choose where they want to play.
I’m not touching OW until this is addressed. As for VPNs, they often add unnecessary ping AND they cost money. No, thank you.

DC universe online a video game has 2 separate Regions - US and EUR
and it’s the same on console, and they have crossplay for PS and PC… without the need of merging all the regions together like OW has…
