Does anyone else have this issue on console where cross-play chat, whispers, squelch chat, and in-game text chat doesn’t work? I’ve tried restarting my app, uninstalling and re-installing the app, even downloading the battlenet app but still it doesn’t work. I can’t be the only one facing this issue right and if so how do I fix it?

I was having issues a little earlier today, I’ve got two friends that play on PS and my mic wasn’t connecting to the chat whatsoever, I just restarted the game and everything worked out fine. One of my friends had said similar things were happening in Apex when they implemented Crossplay at first too, so I assume they’ll probably work those bugs out eventually.
If your mic just isn’t working at all there might be some issue in your settings, or unfortunately maybe in the headset itself. Was voice chat working for you prior to Crossplay? And have you double checked your settings to make sure it’s still set to join the chats?

If the issue we’re talking about is where you cannot see or interact with the new text chat, squelch chat or whisper.
I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the game but it hasn’t worked for me

Xbox user here with same issue. I can hear my PC friend but he can’t hear me. If you click on groups you should see a headset icon. That needs to be selected. It then should join you to voice chat. Sometimes it works. Other times I had to restart the game and/ or console. I hope they fix it to where the icon is already selected when you join a group. In options- sound. There are selections for auto join but that doesn’t seem to make a difference either. It also doesn’t work sometimes when I play a random quick play or arcade mode. FYI your not the only one but make sure the headset icon is selected in groups
That’s actually been a known and ongoing issue with the Xbox game chat. They’re aware, but it might be a problem with the Xbox itself and how it detects headsets/microphones because I’ve had this issue with other games too.
Xbox user here, for me overwatch says that I have to enable cross platform chat in my Xbox settings. They are enabled (I made sure a dozen times) but overwatch says they aren’t. Not sure what to do there

Firstly, as MAGACH1K said, make sure “Communicate with players outside of the Xbox network” is turned on.
Secondly, if you’ve turned it on and it’s still not working, try hard rebooting your console. For Xbox, hold down the white X on your controller and select “Restart console”.

SOLVED
Go to Xbox settings > account > privacy and online safety > Xbox privacy > view details & customize > communication & multiplayer > there’s a box that says “you can communicate outside of Xbox with voice and text”, make sure that is set to everybody. You should be golden. I’m not sure how it would work on PSN.

I’m a ps4 user who is a minor. I cant talk in crossplay chat on my account but the main account is perfectly able. I suspect this is another one of Sony’s stupid restrictions for minors. I’ve dealt with not being able to do about anything for years and crossplay chat is just another one on the pile. I hope they change this and allow me to talk because honestly, this restriction really isn’t needed.
I mean, how do they know your age? Did you input somewhere that you’re a minor? Did your parents set up some sort of parental restrictions on your console?
Anyone find a fix on this for Switch? Have been having issue with cross play when joining friends on PC. Have tried restarting/resetting/refreshing console/game/settings with no luck. Worked just a few weeks ago all fine then suddenly stopped working.
This, amongst other solutions I’ve found on this forum don’t appear to solve the problem
Hey PS4 player with same issue chat disappears for me while in a match. I can only read what people put in between matches and can’t text or join in the chat conversation.
