I’ve really tried to keep up with being a support main but with all the nerfs and blizzard sucking off dps mains its really not motivating me to keep going, might as well be a dps main and get all the perks
Support heros get nerfed and sledgehammered without any consideration to reverse yet doomfist gets a small number change and even so they reverted it, truly sad.
Please don’t look at the game as category of heros vs category of heros.
Look at everything as individual heros.
Bapt did need a nerf.
Why?
Moira and Ana are used as much or more than he is outside of GM
Gutting him to be unplayable in GM isn’t suddenly going to make a Diamond player go; “Oh I know we’ve been using Ana more than Baptiste, but now that Baptiste is horrible, we should start to use him!”
That would be like if we nerfed Junkrat because he’s too good in Bronze, and then expected him to be used by everyone else
Supports are still the strongest class, I’d stick with 'em. Support are strong.

At lower level, people take massive amounts of damage, blizzard is balancing by higher level heals (like zenyatta is optimal “heals” for higher level) so all healers are now up to zenyatta / mercy heals.
Being a support is garbage now, especially in lower ranks. Impossible to help the team.

Healer throw picks to plat (Not even that lower level, it’s right there to mid level)
Brigitte throw pick (Tanks in plat don’t make space)
Mercy throw pick (Teams take too much damage in plat)
Baptiste throw pick (after the patch) (Teams take too much damage in plat)
Zenyatta throw pick (Teams take too much damage in plat)
Lucio throw pick (Teams don’t group up in plat)
Moira (The best option but still will get screamed at by plat chat because you “DPS”)
Ana (Take alot of skill to stay up on heals and team has to be grouped up)
Overrall, support sucks to play at lower level only 2 heroes or be a throw pick.
Doomfist did not deserve a nerf, and so Blizzard stupidly put half of it through. Blizzard completely sledgehammer DPS heroes. Some support heroes are still ridiculously overpowered, and need to be nerfed. If you want to be subjected to forum abuse, abusive teammates, developer abuse, long wait times and depression, main dps. We have it the worst.

Ok but you realize Moira is 65 hps and bap is a little over 62 with his nerf right, him and moira are near equal in primary fire hps now, yet moira is ok but baptiste doesnt have enough healing
you’re right, he deserves to be deleted.
Doomfist is so poorly designed, I’m surprised he was even approved of by the developers to be released in the PTR, let alone the live servers
You must not realize, but Mercy outheals Ana by a large margin in plat, and Brigitte is extremely close to Ana’s healing output.
For me only Brig left, and maybe Ana, lets see whats in that dev update, maybe that seals it for us XD
Moira is super easy to heal and get value off healing as well and easy to get value off of DPSing. Every healer at plat will do better with moira than baptiste, nearly 100% of the time.
Moira heals = M1 without aim, long range. (so easy bronze can master)
Moira DPS = M2 without aim, huge AoE effect, auto aim. (so easy bronze can master)
Baptiste heals = M2 with small accurate AoE affect. (medium skill required to do anything, especially long range heals / in-air heals)
Baptiste DPS = extremely accurate M1 with aim, with damage falloff. (high skill required to do anything, again especially precise - in-air DPSing against pharah or small hurtbox characters (babydva, tracer), etc)
Example: I was playing baptiste in plat, with a moira teammate, I had silver heals with 16k heals in 13 minutes, my moira must’ve had 18-20k~ish in 13 minutes. Despite baptiste doing great (non-nerfed pre-patch baptiste), my baptiste after the patch will probably be 13-14k heals in 13 minutes or something with the new nerf coming, along with worse DPS incoming for bap. (I probably won’t even play bap, once again… a throw pick in my SR)
Ana has consistency with her healing, brigitte needs the team to push. Teams barely push in plat.
Mercy outheals Ana, at what cost though, no DPS (and bare minimum utility, vs Ana’s Biotic Nade, Sleep dart & game changing Nano boost ult.) which is important in an support role, you’ll need to trust your DPS in plat to damage boost them and put faith in them as a mercy. (Not sure if you ever played with plat DPS but they’re not very good).
Once again, I’m talking strictly platinum rank here. Not OWL level, I don’t know what goes on up there, so I’m talking about what I know.
It’s all good, most of the time a supp main will get destroyed or can’t power through the healing when they queue for dps, and will be back to be a supp main in no time.

It can be a soul sucking experience with people expecting to wipe their bum regardless of what mess they get themselves into while mostly ignoring you in the process. Still, you either love being support or ya don’t. If you need a break, and don’t mind dps wait times, go for it then come back later support when you’re ready for another go.
Yes in lower ranks Moira will tend to be better than baptiste just like she’ll tend to be better than ana in lower ranks
And despite you listing how much easier Moira is than baptiste there’s only a thousand point difference average just about between both healing and damage on them
Your example is a bad one just because one character being moira is better than another in plat doesnt mean the other is a throw pick, I garuntee Baptiste is gonna be far from it even after this healing nerf

Main problem is in platinum rank, players take a massive amount of damage, again with the example:
In 13 minutes, we as a combination, had 10k extra heals (23k heals in 13 minutes, both healers combined) than what’s needed and we still lost the game, that’s how much healing you can give to a team and yet the team (loses), yes the game was lost, despite me being baptiste, taking out pharah, DPS wasn’t switching, etc.
Basically my point is, all healers usually are throw picks in some form to the community in platinum rank. (Moira DPSing, Ana why no big anti-nades?! The best two viable healers in plat) so nerfing heals and utility of support characters is going to make this problem worse.
Yes, it’s a lower level problem thing but that’s why I came in and told people instantly, I’m talking about platinum rank and generally lower level problems.
