Congratulations on the worst designed hero kit. (Freja)

It’s a known thing that every new hero Blizz released is stupidly OP for a while so that the pickrate is high.

After another season or two, Blizz will nerf her with something obvious and insultingly polite like, “We feel that Freja might be a bit too strong, so we’re toning her down a little.”

18 U.S. Code § 1038 - False information and hoaxes

hi darling

No PTB to test them anymore and the devs openly stating they like new heroes to be op on release. Cooked.

Tbf most hereos release broken.

I mean it’s actually more rare for them to release weak, than strong. Even when we had the PTB to test them, they still released busted.

Yeah, that’s not the same thing my darling.

And, we’re just going to ignore how ironically funny my original response was?

In OW1, the only 2 that launched in a good state were brig and sigma, “good” being an understatement.

Ana needed like 4 sequential buffs to be playable. Moira was never good. Ashe and orisa launched as weaker version of other heroes. Sombra was almost unplayable, which was a good thing overall. Doomfist was a feast or famine bug filled monstrosity.

Oh yes it is baby girl, but hey, go on, make a fool of yourself…I will not stop you

You’re pretty amusing I’ll give you that.

I mean, aren’t you guys the same people who complained lifeweaver was too weak at launch? Hence why most characters after that came out strong?

Brig was busted. Sigma was busted. Orisa just kinda existed. Sombra is sombra (a.k.a always garbage). Moira wasn’t good not because they purposefully released her weaker, her design is just terrible, she still sucks years later. Bap was busted. Pretty sure ball was also strong on release. Echo was strong. If you compare ashe to what she was on release, to what she is now? She was busted.

Then you get to OW2 where JQ was busted, sojourn was busted, kiri was busted, ram was busted, mauga was pretty much Hitler, illari was busted, hazard was busted, freja was busted, juno was busted… you get the point.

Point is there have been far more busted heroes on release than weak.

Problem is and what most people realized after his 300th round of buffs, his design is terrible and the character is abysmal. He was going to be garbage no matter what they did. The dude has been buffed probably the most out of anyone and is still god awful.

My point is that in OW1, there was a long period where new heroes sucked on release.

I mean yea I guess from like 2016 - 2017, not that big of a period to be boasting about tbh. Especially since any hero that released weak was soon to be broken. Hell you mentioned, ana. It wasn’t long after her release when she became busted and then ended up causing the first triple tank meta of overwatch lol.

Yes, but what I said is I long to go back to the time when new heroes sucked at release. That time period existed, we should go back to it.

Eh. The way I see it, they’ll release weak and then just get buffed up anyway because they aren’t going to have their new hero being dog water.

I gotta give them credit. Nobody’s complaining about Pharah anymore.

Junker Queen was broken on beta, by kinda meandered after launch until a year or so later when they tweaked her passive and how Carnage worked.

Kiriko picked up a few buffs and tweaks; she was actually under performing.

Ramattra never over-performed; but never really under performed, either.

Illari’s initial complaints were healing, then damage. Today she heals more, but Pylon and her primary fire are weaker now; and a lot players are suggesting she’s on the weak side.

Hazard hasn’t been under performing or over performing. He doesn’t really have too much popularity, though.

Moira was blowing past every other Support in terms of healing and damage; actually. But still wasn’t achieving the same results as Lucio or Mercy had.

Baptiste’s main complaints were to Immortality Field, which saw some minor adjustments. My main complaint (that eventually got tweaked and changed up) was to his primary fire and general gunplay didn’t feel particularly good along with Amp Matrix. Both eventually got fixed.

Wrecking Ball wasn’t seen as particularly noteworthy; Echo was seeing a lot of complaints, in spite of her lack of successes or popularity. She did see some tweaks much later on.

Ana was underpowered for a solid year; though Nanoboost needed some tweaks. Ana got a lot of buffs before players starting complaining about Biotic Grenade.

Sombra wasn’t seen as particularly notable, but plenty of players were still screaming about D.va, Tracer and Genji then.

Orisa didn’t see any real complaints until players got used to Halt.

Most of the newer, post-launch, heroes in Overwatch 1 varied in terms of power. Ana was seen as weak. Sombra was… there. Orisa, likewise, until players got used to Halt. Doomfist didn’t get a whole lot of complaints - mostly had a lot bugs.

Moira was a frequent complaint since day one. Brigitte, likewise. Sigma got a ton of complaints - mostly to do with Double Barrier. Ashe didn’t get a lot of complaints until the fixed up her gunplay. Baptiste got some complaints, mostly Immortality Field, but most didn’t complain about his healing or primary fire then. Or ever complained about Amp. Matrix.

Wrecking Ball never got complaints.

It was mostly the original launch roster that saw a ton of complaints. Hanzo, Genji, Cassidy, Soldier, Reaper and D.va. Mei got a ton of complaints too. Torbjorn - despite being one of the most consistent heroes in the game - never saw any real complaints, at all.

Usually when a new hero came out, the existing heroes also got a tweak or buff that warranted more complaints than the new hero.

Yes you’re describing these heroes after changes.

Hazard on release was so disproportionally represented in the top 500 it was hilarious. The hero was beyond broken.

Yes my point is that moira’s design just sucks.

Ok.

Idk why you’re describing to me why heroes were complained about lol. I know that. That doesn’t have anything to do with the convo.

not the worst designed hero but certainly not a very well designed hero fs

haha, not even close to as game breaking as 90% of supports.
