Sym only moved to dps because ALL support characters have some type of healing ability.

She had a shield generator ultimate that would last until it was destroyed. Bringing us back to the fact that shields “regenerate” your health back over a set amount of time.

Once they took that away, of course she couldnt be in the support category because she no longer has a healing ability to support with. Which is why they she moved to the now extinct “defense” category.

Play your cards right and hit your shots, you’ve got yourself a powerful stealth flanker.

then keep it as a support with the shield generator? why the change to dps? why not rework her with more support abilities?

There was also an april fools where her turrets would heal your teamates in proximity…

Every character is a dps when the occasion calls for it. If not dps, why gun?

As long as your healing target stays within sight every so often. Transcendance can also be used as a movement ability… js

Im actually quite happy about the GA increase and the Rez changes. I really liked the GA change in that experiment it was in, came In clutch a few times. Also with Valk having a form of burst healing, she might actually be able to keep tanks up. But I do agree that there are MUCH more broken perks.

I would also have been happy with Rez cooldown resetting when entering Valk like in classic, With maybe half the cast time of what it is currently in 5v5

They can’t balance the game with the abilities the way they are. There’s 0 chance the game will be balanced ever with these perks.

but GA range increse is a really poor bonus. the thing i remember them adding as a perk to qp some months ago was a small decrease in GA cooldown, to ow1 levels. that one was huge.

OK, if you want an m-word pass you need to remove all m-word perks that have more impact than that one. starting with

QUICK DRAW – Fan the Hammer shots are individually controlled and can crit for 50% more damage.

OVERCHARGED – Railgun’s maximum energy is increased by 50 while Overclock is active.

FOCUSED AIM – Scoped shots charge 50% faster during Infrasight.

Junkrat mains, how we feeling right now? It’s feeling like a bit of a nerf to me. At least we can throw traps further? I imagine everyone is feeling nerfed on their mains though…

wonder what the stadium version will be like and i wonder if its ALL HEROES as well. or we limited in heroes in that mode?

those perks are completely unbalanced, if this goes into comp, it will kill the game.

Many perks don’t seem well-balanced. I’m not sure the team thoroughly tested them all.

Additionally, some already strong heroes (like Tracer and Ana) received very powerful perks, while weaker heroes (such as Roadhog) have poor perk choices.

Some perks also don’t align with the hero’s intended design. For example, Reaper’s Wraith Form lifesteal feels out of place. Wraith is meant to be an escape tool, but giving him 40% lifesteal for three seconds after using it feels awkward for a major perk choice. Normally, Reaper secures a kill and then escapes with Wraith, which is more effective than this perk. If the goal was to make Wraith more offensive, a better option might be a small AoE lifesteal during Wraith Form. This way, players could use it to finish off a low-health enemy trying to escape or force a group of enemies to scatter, creating an opportunity to eliminate a poorly positioned target.

I really appreciate some perks that add new dimensions to heroes, like those for Torbjörn and Mauga. I wish more perks followed this approach. Overall, I think most of them need a rework.

One last thing: I believe the dev team should intentionally give strong perks to underperforming heroes. At the very least, it would be an attempt at balancing.

It heals like 50 hp

Its easier to keep a game balanced when everything is unbalanced. Think of it like a wood board floating on water during a car ride it’s going to wobble a lot. Now stir that water around furiously that board while its circling will stay more stable just due to the centripetal force applying equal pressure on all sides. Thats kind of how you have to balance games sometimes if everything is equally out of wack it doesn’t look so bad anymore. This is a much easier way to balance a game and keep it feeling fun because when stuff has no impact it feels useless and boring to most players.

No it’s not. You don’t know how to play support. Anybody who is healing 24/7 is throwing the game.
