Endorsement level isn’t an indicator of toxicity, teamwork capabilities or skill.
You’ll farm them from playing support, you’ll be barren if you’re on damage. It’s not how it should work, but that’s what people treat it as.

DPS main and my endorsement is always around 3-4. It’s not an excuse to have low endorsement because you only play dps. You either are too toxic or don’t play as a team by not trying to counter the enemy. Even though I sometimes don’t care and want to practice a hero. I still get endorsed because I keep my mouth shut and don’t blame my team.
You…do realize that most endorsements COME from comp, right?
You do realize that most level 25, newly able to comp accounts are only able to achieve endorsement level 1/2, right?
I think DPS endorsement levels are artificially low and it would be unfair to them. I personally only vote for tanks/supports and I bet many others do as well.
Since when? I got to endorsement level 3 very quickly playing Quickplay (what is now known as “classic”).
I got to endorsement level 4 eventually, bounced between 3 and 4 for a bit since 4 decays pretty rapidly, then I got into 4 solidly enough that I’ve been running at a “4” for four months without issue (sincere apologies to anyone who reads that with their internal voice).
I’ve only ever done placements for comp, and only sporadically so even then. People endorse plenty in the quickplay mode.
People often just randomly gives out endorsements. The most toxic ones i’ve ever seen were all level 4.
I think, to maintain your level, it’s also very important to GIVE endorsements. If I don’t feel like my team deserved anything, then I’ll throw them at the enemy. Not sure if it matters, but I really feel it must attribute to the point system somehow.
As a primarily DPS player, it’s very easy to get and maintain level 3. You would have to be particularly toxic in attitude to not be able to do so.
You can’t lose endorsement by not playing the game. That’s not how it works.

Do you play more than comp? Because endorsements are far more common outside of comp for dps players. I constantly get to endorsement 4 on this account, but my alt account that only ever played comp never went above 2.
Or in other words, endorsements are a worthless measurement of anything.

Endorsements are a joke and aren’t indicative of anything-- and a system like this would be busted, especially if endorsements were still in the hands of other players.

Also about 2 weeks back there was a bug that reset my endorsement level to 0 from 4. It happened to one other person at least because they made a thread about it. It took no less than a day or 2 to get back to 4.
Endorsements are the biggest waste of effort I have ever seen put into a game.
They mean absolutely nothing, i don’t even both looking at my score or giving awards to other players anymore.
It is tho, it literally is, I garuntee majority of the population is endorsement 2 because its hard, especially if your a dps main
This isn’t true, I don’t play comp anymore and plenty of people use endorsements in QP.

Except it’s only lower ranks that seem to engage consistently in endorsements.
I honestly dont remember the last time I endorsed in Masters. It’s common to see people lingering around 1 or 2 at that level because no one does it.
So you’d be shutting most of the people out at that rank from competitive in an already limited pool of players.

Endorsements don’t mean a thing. Especially when all it is, is a popularity contest.
- You wont know if they actually were, “a good team mate”. Most often the only people that get voted this are people with POTG or the Mercy player.
- Shot caller is really only awarded if someone thinks you chose a Mercy or a Rein. If someone was doing actual “shot calling” they would be flagged for spam.
- Sportsmanship. The fact that we are awarded ONLY sportsmanship by the enemy team. Yeah that means NOTHING.
Outlines:
Saying “GG” in chat. is NOT sportsmanship. I could care less about a group of randos SPAMMING “GG” in chat, thinking im going to endorse them. I won’t give them sportsmanship awards.
Just think. False reporting DOES bring down those endorsements. Anything said in chat, could lead to an endorsement drop.
