Grinded for the previous 2 drive, not touching this one. Unless they make the challenge available for the whole season, there isn’t a single point to waste your time on this feature that prolly is made to entertain the dev themselves watching us being tortured.

IMO the best way to change such an untenable system is not to attend these psychopathic events. But welp its the players choice afterall. I can only suggest.
I decided to check the fuzz about drives. I usually don’t play comp at the end of the season. So i won a match and i was almost near to first checkpoint only for me to have loss streaks and went back to zero. I gave up after that.
I wished they add it at the start & midseason. Instead of the end. Also wished they removed losses.

Play in a group and you can finish it in about 5-6 hours thats how me and my friends all got it done quickly we were also lucky tho too just because there were a lot more “new” comp players who treat it just like qp. Like others have said you get bonus points for playing in a group and that helps a lot. I hate open que comp but that might help ya too if you dont mind it just gotta know what team builds to run

After somehow miraculously winning 2 games in a row, I’m currently 16 wins, 21 losses this weekend. 2707 score so far. And down 2 ranks.
The games are just awful. Matchmaking is all over the place. This is one of the least fun slogs I’ve ever experienced in this game. Several 5 or 6 game losing streaks, just getting completely stomped, and when I do win, it’s a super tight game down to the buzzer.
People have told me several times that game quality and matchmaking improves if you play comp. I just want to go on record and say that is complete and utter fecal matter.
And no, playing in a group isn’t an option, because the few people I know who actually played this game left years ago.
I don’t even care about the drives. Just extra UI clutter. I’m just trying to get a few more comp points before they get recycled…

I’m back in metal ranks. I literally gave up only playing lifeweaver in favor of playing juno but I can only do so much to mitigate the overextending and throwing LMFAOOO. Like it’s stupid decisionmaking. And then when people actually listen to whatever strategy I throw out, we win

ya thats the problem with drives as comp starts to feel a lot less organized and becomes lets keep throwing stuff at the wall and see what works. One suggestion is to perhaps join the OW2 LFG discord server and look for a group to play with it might help you with wins if everyone is on coms. Comp is generally way more organized and played better when its not a drive event which is why i suggest a 5 stackso you have no randoms to queing up with you
I’d agree, and likely look into your suggestion if I was ready to go back to taking Overwatch seriously again. These days, I play super casual, just enough to keep the rust from building up, because I’m not super fond of the state of the game or the future direction.
But that’s another story completely, I just dream of a world where a competitive game can have some semblance of balance in it’s matchmaking, enough to feel like your time is at least being somewhat rewarded, rather than just getting smacked around for hours on end.
I’m just venting at this point. This event has decayed my soul more than I was expecting it to.

If there was no nerf to the points you lose, the last checkpoint was already annoying enough.
You can do it, I believe in you.
Also, if you just do the group thing, you automatically get 50 points toward it. And with the tiny decay, that is kind of like a cheat code.
It’s hard to get into Bronze. Must have taken you a long time.
Well, at least one good thing came out of it.
It’ll be back when i’m at a rank where people don’t run around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Yes, that’s true. Given that we had to not just lose, but play well and lose so that there would be no suspicion that we were falling on purpose. The minimum number of deaths and kills was slightly higher than the team’s, and in the end we made the same gross mistakes that silver and bronze players make in order to lose. But the drive went quickly and we didn’t have to suffer.

It’s like that sometimes.
Those teams haaate the Flankyatta too but he’s got what they really need.
