Hey! So me and my friend have been playing competetive and something aint right. we’ve played all games together and he ranks up, and I dont. Last placements we got 5 wins 2 loses, I did not rank up. And the one after that we got 5 wins and 1 loss. And still I did not rank up while he does. What is gonig on? why am i staying in the same rank while performing like this? In conclusion,I went 5-1, then 5-2, then 5-1 again, and after that last placement i got a rankup form silver 4 to silver 3, While he just goes trough the ranks of gold and is now plat. We’ve only played with eachother… this gotta be a bug. Both of us have old accounts with alot of hours on them. Average game rank has been over gold 4 all games??
Rank placement and rank adjustments take into account more than just wins and losses, they are also affected by how far apart the ranks are between you and your opponent, how new your account is, and how long ago you last played. Newer players have much more drastic rank adjustments due to the lack of performance history to base initial skill and inactive players similarly have more drastic rank adjustments due to the lack of recent performance history. Both of these are potential explanations as to how players that are grouped and play the same matches can end up with different ranks. Im having the same issue. My rank will not get out bronze even though my friends ranked up to grandmaster, etc. Was there a fix to this? I seem to rank Bronze only. I even 10-12 games in a row with great stats and still ranked bronze.
