got dropped from a comp match, not a problem caused on my side, and immediately rejoined the match. It was right at the start of a match, so the 10 second timer started, but i rejoined the match instantly. the timer still counted down from 6 to 0 even though i was in the match. I got a suspension, and I’m assuming a loss on a placement match for that. wtf blizzard?
The ten second countdown is merely an alert for other players that the match will shut down so that they won’t freak out when they are kicked to the main menu. If the ten-second countdown timer starts, the match shuts down regardless with the appropriate penalty applied.
I am assuming this was a one time issue, so just be sure to play a few games of Quick Play before trying again. That being said, if you are getting kicked frequently, avoid competitive, and try to see what is disconnecting you by running something like a WinMTR test. Post in the technical support forums if you need further assistance.
